My dog thinks he is a guard in Oblivion

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 11:17 pm

I was sneaking up on some raiders and a dear runs away from me and my dog just runs after the dear alerting everyone inside the raider camp of my presence :/ so much for sneaking.

Reminds me of the guards who shout "I'll save you citizen" than run after a deer that was running away from me.

I just made my way past a bunch of those camera turrets just fine, then I hear a BOOM and a yelp and Dogey comes flying at me in a hail of blue energy fire...manages to trigger two of them.

:lmao: Oh, sure they were a bit over enthusiastic at times, but at least they did their jobs, unlike those pansies in Skyrim :stare:

Dogmeat's AI is a lot more like a real dog this time around. Im actually pretty impressed. Still not impressed enough to think of companion NPCs as anything more than a burden, but then after years of this stuff I can't think of a way to do companion characters as non-burdens that doesn't involve going full Bioshock Infinite. And that's quite a different way of doing things for obvious reasons.

He's a lot better than Codworths IMO. Early today I sent him out alone to tackle a bunch of ghouls. So he sit's there taking hits and not attacking back so I think uh oh, my bad "Go investigate the ghouls" instead. So then he hits one and they all run off in my direction while he just sits there watching me getting pummeled.. Gotta love it when a plan comes together. :sadvaultboy:
