Power Armour as Mech

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 7:21 pm

I'm sure its been discussed but I would love to see the Power Armour become more 'mech' like with future dlc.

Like, you don't have hands but a mini gun or rocket launcher on the end instead. A high powered rifle you couldn't carry around that uses the visor as a scope etc. It doesn't take much imagination to see what I'm talking about I hope.

Within reason of course, mounted missile launchers on the shoulders might be a little excessive.

Anway, just a thought. You don't get if you don't ask!

Now there's a mod idea: drivable http://mechassault.wikia.com/wiki/Mad_Cat

Which reminds me, what are the Hellcats mentioned in the opening quest news broadcast?

Sadly nothing else in game clarifies this, the calm weather the announcer talks about might suggest a weather dependant thing, like a aircraft.

Just google Mechs. And you get the idea.

I mean, what's the point of Power Armour really. Anything good about it could be made better if they turned them into proper mechs.

Imagine all the cool customisations!

Power Armor is powered armoured infantry, which can go almost everywhere ordinary infantry can go with the advantage of heavy armour and added firepower. A Mech is a walking tank, not really the same thing at all as lots of mechs aren't even humanoid in shape and they have different roles.

As for more mecha like, what is the advantage of having arm mounted weapons when we can just carry the same weaponry and still have the ability to use our hands.

This is an idea that I like, I got a boner just by reading it. I hope they add something like that in a DLC, and anyone complaining about it for not fitting fallout or any other BS should get mininuked on spot.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_F6F_Hellcat Might be a modernized version based on them. That makes no sense, but nothing in Fallout does :P
