Fallout 4 has sold over 2.5 million copies on Steam already

I'm not.

I love FO4.

I've spent more time with it than TW3 and probably (just) prefer the game to that.

But I recognise that FO4 sits on slightly older technology, and doesn't quite meet the depth of story-telling that TW3 pulls off.

In short it is not quite the 'new shiny' that TW3 is.

FO4 currently has more GOTYs than MGS, sitting as it does in second place, which is fair and still pretty damn good.

TW3 raised the bar for storytelling which is good news (and an incentive) for all AAA games going forward.

Great Christmas present for Bethesda I'm sure. They deserve it. FO4 is an amazing addition to the series and quite possibly my fave.

What I mean about "self-fulfilling prophecy" is that most people were in the mindset that the Witcher 3 was going to be an amazing game before they ever even played it, that's the impression I've got from people on these forums for the last year. While The Fallout community's been full of bitterness (and "apologists") ever since Bethesda acquired the IP... so it doesn't surprise me that after all is said and done, people just continue to say the same things they've been saying for over a year.

I deliberately avoided actual comparisons of the games in my post, and I've avoided talking about the critical response. I only compared Fallout 4 to Fallout 3.

And for the record, oranges are the bomb... but who the hell peels apples?

Well no copies will be sold today during their Winter Sale since Steam is down due to a really serious issue where logging in would bring up some random person's account with all their personal information. Yay Steam!

You would be surprised.

Take a look at this:

It's not only a thing, it's even more common than you think. Just like I said before some of my friends, amongst which you could find people who loved Bethesda, started changing their opinions and passionately hating everything related to Bethesda between 2013 and 2014 after visiting codex and discussing with Obsidrones. They are all really young like younger than 25. If you visit those bashing threads in their caves you will find most haters registered not so many years ago, while the older Obsidian fans who also hate bethesda normally don't really give a [censored].

I remember a guy who couldn't stop saying how daggerfall was the best game ever made by Bethesda when we found out later he never even played it. That's the kind of hipsters that you discuss with, you are even quoted in their threads. There's little difference between a troll and an obsidian fan, the main one is possibly the fact that the troll justs flames for fun, while the obsidian fan will always believe what he says and within their little hiveminds there's not much you can even discuss about.

Oh jeez. I mean, I'm pretty sure it's against the forum rules to talk about what other forums are doing, but... I have to admit, I feel kinda left out. They didn't mention me at all. :c

I think now that we are down to grouping people together as in "trolls" and "obsidian fans" and such just to dismiss them it's become flaming and flamebait and it's time to close the thread. And that is what's going on in this thread now.
