They should make a Settlement Console

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 3:40 am

In settlements, there should be a computer to help manage everything.

For example- log onto the computer - hit REPAIR ALL and everything gets repaired after ....oh i dont know....10 super mutant lords stomp through town and damage everything you own (including every individual plant being farmed....SOOOOO ANNOYING)

Also- it should be able to toggle the Settlement Radio Signal

- Allow access to workshop items - including a transfer menu in case you want to move things from settlement to settlement

- A Settler manager that allows you to call up individual settlers and companions and assign jobs

- Check the needs of the settlement (i know this aspect of the game is pretty shallow, but still, it could help)

PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN. Keep this bumped until someone from bethesda sees it and makes a mental note. Thank you

Im pretty much all for it. Instead of a "repair all" though, maybe have the ability to hire a Mr. Handy who sets out to repair after you initiate him from console.

I would re-post this as a poll though. Polls probably get more attention from developers since they can quickly and easily see what people want based on results instead of reading through page after page filled with trolls and thread stealers : )

PS- (Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh, ahhh)

Whatever happened to predictability

The milkman, the paperboy, evening TV?

You miss your old familiar friends

Waiting just around the bend

This old world's confusing me

With clouds as mean as you've ever seen

Ain't a bird who knows your tune.

Then a little voice inside you whispers,

Kid don't sell your dreams, so soon

(Chorus:)

Everywhere you look

(Everywhere you look)

There's a heart

(There's a heart)

A hand to hold onto

Everywhere you look

(Everywhere you look)

There's a face

Of somebody who needs you

Everywhere you look

When you're lost out there

and you're all alone,

A light is waiting

to carry you home.

Everywhere you look

Everywhere you look

(Chip-a-dee-ba-ba-dow)

There has been suggestions of terminals including settlement management screen(s).

For crop repairs and perhaps repairs in general, these will eventually happen over time, I believe. I have seen it happened with damaged stuff in my settlements but I can't say exactly what the criteria are. For crops, it's moot anyway because repair is free (basically, you're just planting a new crop and the cost is free because you'll harvest the crop anyway).

Inventories should NOT be shared between settlements. Doing so makes the gameplay easier, too much so, but it also completely breaks immersion because stocks of items in one city/town/village etc cannot be accessed in another without actually transporting items from the first city to the second. Supplies for crafting make sense for simplifying settlement construction and maintenance, and it could even be argued that supply lines actual access a shared central store for supplying needed materials, but that's totally different because such supplies are general use, not specific items such as all sorts of weapons, armor, etc.

do you mean that settlers automatically do it? that would be awesom if true- so do they only do it while youre present or can you go away for a couple days and come back to a fully repaired base?

and i know its moot- but when you have a large farm(s) it just gets sooooooooo damn tedious - it really svcks the life right out of the game to be honest lol.

I don't want it tied into a fixed spot in each settlement, I want it available through my pipboy, so I can manage any settlement anywhere at any time, including provisioners. Ability to reassign, reroute, rename and so on.

This has been suggested so many times anyway, I expect they realise this is something we all want by now.
