I'm really happy Fallout 4 came with a copy of Fallout 3

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 12:15 am

So that I can play that instead. Seriously what is this garbage? I reinstalled it today since I figured they would have made their game "fun" by now, but apparently all the casuals are enjoying their easy mode "Fallout" game. If you didn't know, I uninstalled the game a week after it was released due to the fact that I beat the whole campaign, explored most of the map, and found probably half of the buildings/caves that are available.

Let me just tell you that I had so little fun doing this that I would have rather gone to my boring as hell office job at half the pay than play this disgrace of a game. I tortured myself playing through this game, it was like Bethesda took a big giant crap on Fallout 3 and said "Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Fallout 4!"

Removing skills, in-game acquired perks, and traits, and replacing them with these limited garbage perks that make little impact in the game? Cool. Too bad I couldn't get a refund. Also, the whole top-left region of the map is nothing but raiders. How inventive.

Strong start there, labeling everyone that is playing Fallout 4 with the same label. Kudos to you sir, and a very merry christmas.

I'm finding the game immensely enjoyable. There are still things I don't appreciate, like needing to drop points into a weapon category to do any damage with them after level 10 and modding system literally being little more than a simple upgrade system with a few token exceptions and the game expects players to fast travel otherwise nothing respawns, among other niggling little things, but the game doesn't have a skill attached to every little action, gun play is much sharper (though hip fire is still largely useless) and doesn't require excessive use of VATS to actually play. Plus settlement building is a good break from constant combat that actually provides some benefits to the player to boot.

Gotta love how people hate the game so much they constantly feel the need to come posting here to ram it down everyone's throat.

Same with those ones -certain members jump to mind- we know don't even have Fallout 4, haven't played it, but feel they have to come posting about what they think is wrong with the game.

I am convinced that some of those people buy it just so they have the right to complain. If that is the truth, that would be quite sad.

I know what you mean. Apparently everyone who is in some way critical of FO4 is in fact an old fossil who only likes FO1 & 2 and hates everything Bethesda has done with the format. (I'll own up to the "old fossil" part :))

Well, it does seem a logical place to discuss the game, really.

Personally, I'd like to understand why I find this particular offering so lacking in comparison with previous Bethesda games. The character background is a big part of it, and in fact once I got that part of the game behind me I had quite a good time with it. Then I was off to the Glowing Sea and getting settlement under attack alerts every few minute or so. It got to the point where I thought it would be easier to abandon the character and start over making sure my settlements were fortified one by one. That reminded me just how much I loath the start up sequence, and I got past that only to have Preston glitch and refuse to leave the museum, and ...

Anyway, I ended up going back to my first char and deciding to ignore the settlements. I mean it's not like they're real people, right? They're just bits and bytes in a simulation and I can rebuild it all once I've finished my adventures in irradation.

And that's what this game seems to keep on doign to me. I constantly have to keep breaking immersion and roleplay to get any measure of enjoyment out of it.

Up until now I thought it was a nice game and I had fun playing it.

But your post opened my eyes, awoke me from my mental slumber and enabled me to see FO4 for the abomination it truly is.

Thank your for my salvation OP, thank you!

Well...I see the OP didn't like the game, which is fine, we all got our opinion. There's really nothing much to discuss there that hasn't been run through a few thousand threads, at this point I would feel like I'm repeating myself.

I just find it interesting how the OP must define a casual as "someone who plays a game I don't like for hundreds of hours." :)

It's a very easy thing to do to try and make an argument by applying a label that separates you from someone that may disagree with your stance. Human's have an almost natural tendency to want to separate each other into a "caste".

Are you a gamer? Well, what kind of gamer are you? Are you a console gamers? A PC gamer? A casual? A hardcoe?

"What does it matter? I play video games."

"Because it just does."

Indeed, humans to tend to form "tribes" of like minded people and consider other "tribes" as their enemies. Just see the "hater"/"fan" conflict on this very thread :P

Weird how you say you you basically beat everything. That's 100 hours at least. You played that in a week!?! That's the problem right there.

Also I beat fallout 3 and most interesting side quests in a mere 20 hours. Fallout 3 has much less content, less to explore. I could name so many things that fallout 3 does worst.

Snerk.

You know, there are plenty of critical threads and commentary on the game in this forum alone, as a quick glance at the first few pages will tell you - something you may have noticed, DocClox. But I guess we all enjoy a random poorly thought out rant, which offers no actual points relevant to why he thinks FO4 svcks and FO3 was "teh awesome". Ironically, according to your own statements you played the hell out of it too. Hate-playing? I guess that's a thing? Most people have better things to do with their rare leisure hours. :) And clearly you did not "explore most of the game", if you think the "Upper top left of the map is only raiders."

Honestly, if your point is "I hate this game for... reasons. And I want to insult people who like the game", then this is really a troll post. Jokes on the OP, since even people who posted who are critical of some features of the game were basically rolling their eyes.

I enjoyed the comments, but this is really just a Grrrrrrr Ima rant post, with no point other than to insult. I am going to play FO4 :) No time to babysit a thread.
