Dragon Age:Inquisition or Fallout 4 Season Pass...

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 10:00 pm

only dlc worthwhile in DA:I is the final one. As for FO4 I strongly recommend not preording something that you don't know what it contains.

I play alot of mmo's and the controls mostly reminded me of that, so really had no problem with the mouse and keyboard, at all. Love people rating the game a 1/10 on Metacritics because they can't handle the controls.

Maybe I am one of the few but having followed Dragon Age since the first one, I loved Dragon Age Inquisition and its three DLCs.

I also love fallout but there are no DLCs for FO4 yet. Not even the creation kit for us PC players.

If your buying a season pass, spend it on DAI since it has what I believe are very good DLCs.

Then save your money for a season pass to Fallout 4 heh

Go with DA:I. It's a complete experience at the moment since you'll have all the DLC to play with.

I would go with DA:I. I found that was the best of all three Dragon Age games. I never finished any of them but then again I like to start new games and I do not play them for the story. DA:I is best suited to my playstyle.

Personally, not a fan of the "Season Pass" deals, but then I'm not a big preorder guy either. I don't mind paying a few extra bucks when DLC actually releases.

That said, DAI is a great game, spent a lot of time with it over the past year, and DAIMP was a big reason for that, as I prefer co-op MP.

But buy it used, save a few bucks for FO4 DLC.

I'm more bothered by not being able to carry it all or there being too much loot. Final Fantasy is certainly an rpg and you can carry everything with some assumption he stores it all on the highwind or something. Some things may have just the right amount of loot. Early resident evil it didn't seem like such a problem, even oblivion and skrym. Though skyrim started it. Now its just become too much. It bothered me in dragons age, witcher and FO4. It's gotten to the point where you have to unload after every mission or dungeon or building but i always end up with tens of thousands odf dollars i dont use so its unnecessary. I thought I learned to not take so much but early- mid game you want money and dont know how much you have to grind. And now in FO4 it ends up all that junk is useful. When i started manufacturing jet it gave a whole new meaning to plastic halloween pumpkins, and plastic plates. Then a game like Assasins creed I didn't think there was enough stuff and he didn't even have to store his stuff, just didn't have much.

It weird too how this weight management has become a part of the game, like some activity thats supposed to enhance the enjoyment of it. You have to make limits and rules to the whole affair. Seems an odd game mechanic in general. Looking past the illusion, it's like getting guns and ships and even money systems have to establish some norm and then you feel good about what you get but if they just gave you all the powers and ships the game wouldn't be fun. Is that the tease? Like some kind of tease. Which is fine I've played rpgs for at least 2 decades but then think of like a basketball game or fps who do something else. Though many rpg elements creep into fps and vice versa as people have said about this game. I would suggest some balance testing and focus groups to find the sweet spot between finding stuff, having treasure and being overencumbered but really besides Bethesda the only other franchise who does it oh wait DA and Witcher and resident evil right but i'm not sure if RE did that last time or he just switched guns between levels. So yeah i found it annoying across multiple developers.

Tresspasser. It's ending is so weak because it would make a better start to the dlc plus it was spoiled In the trailer.

If you like the Dragon Age games, go with that. We may not even see the first DLC for Fallout 4 until summer.

Speaking strictly for myself, but there is no "love the Dragon Age games". I loved Origins, couldn't force myself to even finish the demo of DAII and lost any interest in the series and Bioware when watching vids of DA:I and reading the reviews.

Bioware has lost me as a customer. The path they've taken - or had to take, since they don't call the shots anymore - isn't what I'm interested in anymore. Certainly not to the extent of forking out a considerable amount of money.

We live in a time where most people cry for MP in every game. I wouldn't be shocked if we got it in TES 6 or Fallout 5.

I would highly recommend getting DAI first as FO4 wont have DLC for a few months anyways.

DAI is an amazing game, one of my favourites, really well worth it.

Co-op simply wouldn't work with the type of game Bethesda make. If they were to implement a MP component, it would need to be a separate mode, as with GTA online or DAI/ME3's multiplayer modes. That's not the kind of thing people who want a multiplayer Bethesda game want. They want to play the actual game with a buddy to keep them company, and that's something that would require too many changes to the formula for Bethesda, who are a remarkably conservative developer.

Is it impossible? No, I'm not saying that. But if there is multiplayer in Beth's next game, it would not be the same kind of game. It'd be the most drastic change since Morrowind.

I enjoyed ME3's multiplayer a bit, but the thing in DA:I just didn't grab me. Too slow/grindy/repetitive, perhaps? Luckily, it had zero connection to the main game, so there's no need to even bother with it.

This is the one!

I think it would have been a better DLC if they could make it run along the main story instead of after (changing the whole story of the DLC in other words).

It showed lots of promise in the beginning but turned out quite bland.

I guess you never played any of the Diablo games or the clones. I Find Witcher 3 hardly has any loot at all or meaningful loot. Fallout 4 has meaningful loot especially junk and FO4 is still no where close when it comes to the amount of loot to the Diablo games. Diablo III even toned the amount down which svcks. I want loot since that is one of the main parts of the game to hunt for loot when 99.99% of it is garbage and just searching for that .01% chance for something epic to drop. The kicker is you do not have that much storage space as well in the games. You have to make choices on which loot to keep.

Hearthfire was the best DLC for Skyrim and is one of my favorite DLC's that Bethesda made. But it was not for everyone.

I agree! Finally, a DLC that isn't just about killing and murdering and slaughtering everything in our paths! I think a quality roleplaying game should aspire to more than that. I think roleplaying games should cover all aspects of our character's lives. I thought Hearthfires was refreshing.

If I have one criticism of Bethesda's games it is that they are far too focused on killing as a solution to problems and not focused enough on other types of solutions to problems. advlt relationships - social interactions of all kinds - should be just as import in a roleplaying game as merely killing things. There are not enough opportunities in Bethesda's games to show affection or to engage in any kind of meaningful social interaction.

Granted, it wasn't handled very well in Hearthfires. But I give them credit for trying to move the series in a slightly more advlt direction.

I agree as well! And it's still my favorite Skyrim DLC, just killing stuff does tend to bore me and I want to explore aspects of my characters life.

Hearthfire's already in the game, so I kind of doubt that we'll have a DLC like it. (Not that I would mind if a quest DLC, along with new weapons/enemies/clothes/etc, also had some new settlement parts to learn.)

I suggest getting DA:I first. It's a pretty good game. I have invested more than a 100 hours since release on one character, and still haven't finished the game.
