Enemy NPC's MolotovGrenade Spamming

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 2:39 am

Thread Title sums it up all pretty much. its impossible to have a gunfight with Raiders/Super Mutants in Survival Difficulty with their constant spamming of Molotov/Grenades (When you do kill them, amazingly they only have either 1 Molotov/Grenade left in their inventory). Molotov 1 hit 1 kills without even getting a chance to stimpak yourself. Corvega Assembly Factory was a nightmare to clear out. i dont even know how many times i died just because the Enemy above platform just kept on throwing and raining down molotov's on me. are you guys gonna patch this or something?

Ya Auspestose lining (completely removes fire damage and increases energy resistance) is the best mod for chest peace and if you have 1 metal arm you can put dense mod on it to take 50% less damage from explosives (including mini nukes missiles and everything else)

Get a sniper rifle. Pew pew from a distance. Run, hide. Repeat. ;)

It's called survival mode for a reason, and was designed to be a challenge.

This, you can mod your armor to remove fire damage.

also with dense mod I walk straight up to suicide super mutants and laugh as it takes down 1/10 of my health and immediately eat his corpse to gain it back lol.

The weird thing is how inconsistent they are at spamming nades. Some fights they're throwing them like crazy and in others none are thrown at all, even though I find 1 to 3 nades apiece on them after the fight.

I kill them with grenades. I do have points in Explosives, and you get a nice green arc with the first perk. That allows very accurate placement of them, even through little holes.

Really the Assembly Plant is a lot of fun. Sniping for the start, mid range combat from height to height, and is a hoot. I got jumped by a Behemoth last time I cleaned out the place. I left him outside mostly dead for the Raiders to finish, but he was gone when I cam out. Looked for him for a long time. ;(.

It's a sheer joy for many of us. You are perhaps not suited for Survival mode.

Dont get me wrong, im fine with Survival Mode. The enemy npc is just obviously broken. When they use grenades they can kill you 1 hit with it but when you turn it the other way around molotovs/grenades arent as effective as they can when you use it. Not everyone enjoys playing survival mode/sneaking, sniping enemies from long range.

I know right? I just find it amazing that they can throw atleast 5-6 throwables magically but after you kill them they only seem to have exactly 1 left in their inventory. Its so irritating

I do. I'm playing without VATS and the NPCs are my victims. I smoked that place at level 14, and was sent back twice since. It's one of the fun ones otherwise I would not go back again and again.

If that is hard for you, then there are places that make that look quite easy, quite a lot of them.

I played far too much Stalker and the hint of a nade has me in sprint immediately. I don't get seriously hurt by them as I run. That works so well you can do high speed runs through mine fields and take almost no damage at all.

I will wait till you encounter Super Mutant Suiciders for more angst. The trick there is to drop him without setting him off. Then you get his ...

I guess look away from them or just run in stabbing people like me, don't need to see when they shout.

I didnt say anything about Survival Mode being too hard. I made it until diamond city without dying once. Until preston gave me that quest to help out a settlement with their raider problems. I dont even know how how many times i died in the corvega assembly plant. And the fps drops arent helping either. Theres one instance that i was hiding under a roof and the npc was spamming molotovs above me and the flames glitched through the walls and burned me.

And the NPC's in this game seem to be really accurate with nades and cocktails, throwing them through the tightest of spots. Hell, they make MLB pitchers look like little leaguers :P

Tired now. ;) Get the first perk in Explosives and you can be as accurate as them.
