Exploit and patches Please read! Developers and forum mates

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 3:30 am

Dear Bethesda and forum,

I am a die-hard fan of many of Bethesda's games. I recently got the Fallout 4: Pip-Boy edition for Xbox one and I have played it non-stop... I and many of my friends and players on the Internet have been crushed by the recent exploit and glitch patch. I know it was probably only done to make the game more professional. But I ask to bring the exploits back. Some of us used it as a console command for consoles (Xbox, Ps4) or just a fun way to play. It should be up to the player whether to do it or not, not the company and developers. I and many were disappointed to see we could no longer get items that are harder to get or build impossible structures. Some of us do it and some of us don't. no offense, the developers and other leaders should not be the ones to stop the exploits. The players should decide whether or not to do it. Some of us choose to play genuinely, others(And I) choose to cut corners. It's fun for us. Please consider this and get back to me as soon as possible. And to all you forum mates try to get this post as popular as possible by sharing it with others so this goal can become reality!

I Have read your comments and replies and I understand the problem... Just because it could DOESNT mean they can't, if the developers put a little work into it and understand that line of code more, they can renter the exploit... But in a confined way. Just how like when you did the cap glitch, waited and went back to the same vendor, they'd have more items.

Thank you in advance,

Matthew R Rodriguez

I only liked the caps exploit as it allowed me to build huge settlements with no limits like I was on pc

Hopefully a mod will be introduced in the future that simplifies console commands to a list of things to select from, which should work well on consoles as well.

It has nothing to with vanity. It was done because the exploits and glitches were no doubt linked to game breaking issues. They admit to leaving some exploits in previous games that otherwise do not boink the game itself.

This is a possibility. The glitches may have been part of a larger bug, They fixed the bug, the glitch went away.

Also, sometimes, use of a gltich can also lead to complications further down the line. For example, if use of the glitch caused a stray line of code to get written into the save file everytime it was used and this eventually bloated the save file beyond usability.

And the fact that this is a SINGLE PLAYER GAME fixing glitches and exploits on multiplayer games is understandable but why on a single player game

See my post. There may have been other issues involved. Unless you're fine with the possibility that extended use of the glitch could horrifically break your save games at the 200 hundred hour mark. (Not saying it will, but maybe Bethesda with their ability to access the code and notice such things may have found this out.

Also, as pointed out, the glitch may also have been a side effect of another issue that got fixed.

The only exploit I use is the "exceed the build cap" weapon-scrapping trick (which still works), only detrimental thing I get is a bit of chop and pop-up in the larger settlements.

What did they patch?

I'm on XB1 for the record.
