Gun Runners Arsenal - Fallout 4 DLC

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 8:10 pm

Here is a list of weapons I want to see brought back into the world of Fallout. Now I know FO:4 has all its customization, but it just doesn't feel like anything progresses. Get gun Nut and your 10mm is all you really need. Everyone else just uses pipes and the odd combat shotgun.

So yea, the weapons to make a return:

Plasma Defender - It looks nice and clean. Would be good for the Institute to have.

Laser RCW - It was a Tommy gun that shot lasers! Come on!

5.56mm pistol - You know, that gun.

Grenade Launcher - I play without the crosshair because I'm hardcoe like that. This would make explosives nice and accurate.

You know what, I'm just going to say all the guns. Everything had a use and all the ammo's had their uses. EMP shotgun shells were the bomb.

So what weapons are you waiting to see in DLC / GECK mods?

I fully support this request , expecially for 2 and 4.

The grenade launcher itself was tactically one of the best weapons, expecially considering the incendiary ammos option , the fact thats way more precise than a rocket launcher and much more reliable in a shorter range engage, while still allowing for an assault-ish approach.

The RCW laser also was very nice to have, well performing visually and also very good if you wanted an higher fire rate while sticking to laser weaps .

As for me i already suggested which weaps from previous titles i'd like to see, but here we go again:

Tesla cannon please and a heavy plasma gun as FO4 needs a decent BFG energy gun because the Gatling laser is just blah!

I really do love this game for a variety of reasons, but without going into excruciating detail-unless asked, weapons are problematic at best. We really do need a weapon pack to save ballistic weaponry for FO4.

Here's my list , but it doesn't solely focus on GRA. Wherever you see a weapon and there was a GRA variant, I'd prefer the GRA variant. At a minimum:

.357 Revolver
.45 Auto
9mm Pistol
Hunting Revolver (.45-70)
12.7mm Pistol (Li'l Devil)

Antimateriel Rifle
Battle Rifle (or M1/M14 variant) -- Ahem! Wanderer Trailer? What the heck?
Brush Gun (.45-70) (Medicine Stick)
Trail Carbine (.44 mag)
Light Machine Gun
Marksman Carbine

12.7 SMG

Hunting Shotgun

Laser RCW

25mm APW
Grenade Rifle
Grenade Launcher
((Really miss having a Grenade Rifle to dig enemies out that just love to sit in cover. These were phenomenal weapons in New Vegas. Why they were nixed really makes me scratch my head.))

Craftable MFC Grenades
Craftable Nuka Nades

C-4
MFC Clusters
Satchel Charges

Cosmic Knives and Knife Spears
Throwing Hatchets and Spears

Two-Step Goodbye
Saturnite Super Heated Fist

Reloading with crafting, breakdown, and all handload recipes

And what the hell?... No Riot Armors?!

Every time I write this list for a thread, I just keep scratching my head and keep wondering what in the hell Bethesda was thinking.

I think it was because New Vegas was Obsidian and so they say "Yea it was alright, but we gonna do it our way."

I just want ALL the guns to be honest.

Couldn't agree more, there's a substantial list of weapons that should of been in this game.

M-249 SAW

M2 .50

Gauss Pistol

Ballistic Fist aka Punch Glove ( Fallout 2 )

I could go on, but I won't.... but I could.

Yep. And the cost of doing it their way was too high a price in terms of gameplay, unless of course, you give in and play the game the way they want you to. I don't even use ballistic weapons at level 62. I mean, why bother (?), unless you just have a thing for playing gimped. It verges on a near tragedy for a shooting game that the highest end ".50 cal" does exactly half the damage of the top end Gauss Rifle, and barely outperforms the .308...not to mention, chambering a long range combat "rifle" in .45 is probably one of the weirdest design decisions I've ever encountered...even weirder than the ridiculous mandatory left hand chambering...and absence of ammo types.

Even if the excuse is the mod system implementation, or how weapons look with power armor, it remains a poor design scheme. It's more about a weird artistic vision, limiting platforms for a mod system, and adding weight for a strange notion of balance, than functionality.

Like I said, I love the game (probably because I've been so hungry for a FO game for so long), but the ballistic weapons are ass compared to the two previous games...but primarily the previous one in all honestly. FO3 was pretty generic and unmemorable in weapon design. Obsidian did a great job thinking out weapon designs and fashioning an industry out of the Gunrunners. Ammo and explosives were really well thought out, and it is all really missed as I play FO4. Bethesda focused solely on the mod system, which is of little consolation when I can't even find a decent assault rifle.

But like you've basically said, just graft on the Gunrunner's weapons, explosives, and ammo, and let's call it even. I don't even care if they're not moddable at this point.

I miss the Chinese ar and g3 rifle. The 10mm smg was great too but I think they could add a stock and barrel setup for the current pistol too. Screw it ,just make all of them and we will be happy.

I'm disappointed they pointlessly redesigned so many things for no reason. Update the skin/texture yeah but why not keep the assault rifle?

Spoiler
Why was there no chinese weapons on the chinese submarine? -.-

I am against adding any real world weapons personally unless they've been in the game or existed in the US pre-timeline change.

if they add them, these should be part of the small free dlcs they promised. If they added a huge pack, along with some sort of quest involving the gun runners, they I would support it as a paid DLC.... but it would have to add like 100 weapons, and a quest of atleast 6 hours or more. maybe set in a large area.

Just a real battle rifle. Something chambered in 5.56 that does not look like it is from ww1. Even if it is just another mod for the combat rifle (haha combat rifle in .45). Plus some better mods like quad rails, flashlights, and maybe shotgun or grenade launcher (m203) attachment.

A Ripper Longsword, so we can get some 40k action with some Power Armor.

Most of the weaponry is just...too small to look impressive while rocking Power Armor. There needs to be a line of weapons that is...yeah, you need Power Armor to tout these bad boys.

All the guns that should have been included in FO4 from previous FO games, however, I would be content with one-handed SMG's, That Gun, Anti-Material, and Xuanlong. I'm guessing we will get much of what is needed from the modding community.

would be a fast reload if you just shoved the shells down the barrels like a musket.

Grenade launcher, how I miss thee. Nobody could suddenly be aware of a grenade at their feet and scarper if it had already detonated all over their delicate legs. The Molotov kinda fills that roll, but even with the throwing arc it's movement makes it likely to hit walls/followers/props and literally blow up in my face. On Survival, you cannot heal through the fire DoT fast enough (certainly not fast enough to survive a shot from anything else, anyway).

Would also be nice to see some Breeders, and That Gun, too. Also: big fan of the Cowboy Repeater. Once I stopped allowing myself to use easy-mod sniper rifles, that became my favourite gun.

I'd guess weapon proliferation would be fairly homogeneous across America, as it is today . . . possibly more so during war time. That said, all FO's to this point have had nearly identical weapons that were mainly of the pre-war variety
