Even if the rift was only $50.00 I still wouldn't buy it just because I enjoy gaming the old fashion way.
You and me both. It jsut seems so cumbersome. And I have family to communicate with at home to. And addition to that, I think this is way too immersive in a video game.
I'm definitely getting one. Haven't preordered it yet, but I'm going to be upgrading my computer's graphics card soon to support it. I've gotten to try out the Rift, the Vive, and the Gear VR. They are all pretty amazing.

I would love to try out the rift and whatnot, but that price tag is hurting.
Lets see if I can either make a friend who owns one, or get one of my svckers buds to buy it.
They could lower the price if they didn't include an Xbox One controller, a remote, and a handful of games.
Does anybody remember the Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS and the Audigy 2 ZS Gaming Edition? The ZS was about $100 or less, the gaming edition was about $120 or more and had a remote, and a handful of games.
I hate hashtags but this is necessary: #UnwantedBundles
$600 I can almost buy a XB1 with a kinetic for that price.
About 2 years to late and $400 too much. If I really wanted one I would have just gotten a devkit (for $300 less).
geez, im not spending that much when I doubt many games will utilize it to its full potential for a couple years at least
on a side note, was anyone else confused by the thread title for a second? first thing that came to mind was that old MMO https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rift_(video_game) which made news quite a bit when it was launched.. said to myself "RIFT for preorder.. heh, thought it already came out.. wow, must have had quite a long development time haha".. needless to say, after reading the OP i felt a little silly I didn't make the connection
