Fallout 3, moving pc

Post » Sat Jun 26, 2010 5:01 am

Im excited for new vegas, got a collectors edition reserved...... Anyone else as excited as i?

Anyway i have a seagate harddrive so it lets me backup the folders of my choice. I am going to wipe my pc of everything and change it to windows 7 (finally) as well as getting some spec's upped. How do you think i should go about this?

Do i back up the entire fallout 3 folder? Cause i want my mods. Or do i just backup the Data folder and then just reinstall fallout 3 along with the GECK and FOMM and then paste the data folder in there. And how about the Fallout3 folder in "My documents/games" folder. Do i back that up also and place it in the same place or just take my save file and reinstall the game because that folder with magically reappear again.

Thanks for you help!

NEW VEGAS!

i reinstalled the game and then just copy/pasted the folder over it for oblivion on a few occasions and everything worked just fine.

When you say copy and paste the folder over it, you mean ill get my old fallout 3 folder and then replace the new one with that one?
