Its been a while since I last played Fallout 3 so much so that a few months back I formatted my pc and never installed the game again.

I was trying to do so now and everything went fine, the game starts and runs as well as ever. But I decided to check for new updates and I downloaded the 1.7 update from then on the game does not start anymore. Note: I don't have any other Updates installed.
When I press play an error message saying something like "it wasn't possible to find 5360 in the dynamic xlive.dll hiperlink library". What does that mean anyway?

I tried uninstalling and installing the game again and the same happens, which makes me think it's a problem with the Update.
Do I need to have any of the previous updates installed so that the 1.7 will work?

Hope someone can help me solve this problem as I would like to play the game Updated.

Thank you Starforce9. I had the same problem and this seems to have fixed it. Although after the patch finished installing it briefly opened a CMD box and then started the game and that was it... so I'm assuming that means it installed properly.
