Corgi Companion

I held a Follower Appreciation Event through my Tumblr blog in which the Grand Prize was a mod of your choosing for Morrowind. The grand prize winner requested a Corgi Companion mod.

This mod adds a corgi companion to Morrowind made by me. The corgi, named Dinky by request, is a fully functional companion. You may now enjoy countless hours exploring Vvardenfell and beyond with this lovable pet and friend.

To get the new doggy companion, travel to the Andus Tradehouse in Maar Gan (take the Silt Strider from Ald-ruhn).

When I was five years old a corgi bit me really hard on the ankle and I've been nervous around dogs ever since

I now crown your mod the mod which evokes the greatest sense of latent fear despite its apparent cuteness

He's adorable. Is he trained to hunt wild cliffracers?

Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who is waiting for a modder to remake the corgi for Skyrim. Seriously.

Trained, yes. But I'm afraid his stubby little legs disallow him to unleash his full fury upon their leathery hides.

No. I've had a number of people request the same thing already. Unfortunately it would have to be recreated from scratch for Skyrim since I used the Bloodmoon wolf as a base and Bethesda doesn't allow cross pollination.

Do you intend to expand this by adding in two humanoid companions based on Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and Prince Phillip?

You're only allowed to make ridiculous requests if I permit it through a contest!

This is brilliant. Downloaded and about to be installed.

I'm wondering though...is a Corgi named Dinky a reference to be understood by fans of diecast vehicles?

Lol. Not a clue. I did no research on the name, that's just what the winner requested. :D I have now done some Googling and see your connection is sound.

There was an issue with the video link. Should be corrected now.

This is brilliant, it will be my personal quote :D.
And Corgi... I give it a try. And, this model with textures are good base to make shiba inu (a.k.a. doge) :D.

A Shiba Inu probably would have been easier than this... not being so stubby and all. Would not have required nearly so many modifications to the model and re-rigging. But, alas, I am supposed to be working on the runner up mod which is a waffle launcher.

LMfreshlykissedAO!

Yeah, that was definitely a fear going into this. Hence why I put a major disclaimer on the prizes that I could choose to modify, reject, or counter any ideas. Lol. But any crazy idea from you would be welcome for next time around!

Now updated to version 1.21:

Dinky is now "essential" as in, he won't die, he'll just get KO-ed (those who are familiar with how Morrowind works will know that this isn't 100% fool proof - if he takes an insanely high hit then he will die. But I don't think anything in default Morrowind hits that high and as soon as he is KO-ed, then he really is invincible for all intents and purposes until he revives)

I've added a new topic "-Status" to check on Dinky's current and next level health and strength. He can't take many hits to begin with, but he gets to be pretty tough as you progress.

Fixed his bounding box which was causing issues in interiors.

Open to any feedback on how Dinky could be improved as a companion.

How about a jacket for the cold weather in Solstheim? And, maybe some doggy treats when you want to reward or encourage him?

I've d/l'd the mod (new version) but haven't had the time to try him yet. One question, will his behavior change the longer he stays awake without a chance to sleep? And does he have the ability to play with you or jump up to greet you or maybe slobber over your face licking it :) Anyway, sounds like a cute mod. Oh, one other question - does the char get to give him a name once he becomes his companion? I guess that's not possible but thought I'd ask.
