The age of my character.

How young can he be?

How old?

Will he age over time, or will his age be static? Will aging affect him?

Will I start at a specific age, or will I be able to choose? Will I be able to change his age through various actions?

These are the things I am most curious about. As a roleplayer I feel there are exciting elements of RP available for a character of any age.

In Fallout 3 we were given the opportunity to play an infant, a child, and a young man or woman. However, our involvement with playing an infant and a child were not very personal. These points in the game were essentially nothing more than tutorial stages. In addition the age of our character did not theoretically advance. Personally I would like the opportunity to have more control with the things my character does and is involved in while he is young, along with his age progression, and of course the different stages of his life.

I dislike that generally throughout recent TES related titles we have simply played carbon-copied advlts of a relative age, no visible effects of their current age, and a nameless origin. I believe that adding some aspect of control over your own character's age may change this, and make each character feel more unique.

Well, hopefully the age slider edits your character's voice as well as their appearance. I was thinking of playing a younger character, since its already been mentioned your character has a mentor.

Daggerfall though actually generated a background for you depending on how you answered some questions, which was pretty insightful in revealing the sort of background your character came from. I think thats probably the best information I had to go off of. My arena character was simply a ranger in the court of Urial Septim, my morrowind character was a Nord with amnesia who woke up in a cave in Solsthiem (Alternative start mod), and my oblivion character was a huntsman who grew up around Choral and randomly woke up in the imperial prison.

But my Daggerfall character? I knew what his childhood was like. I knew how he grew up, how he got involved with the septims by saving one of the heirs, and how he was thrown into High Rock with just two instructions. Retrieve a letter, investigate the king of Daggerfall's murder. I hope they return this feature in Skyrim. Odds are they won't, but maybe a mod will come along with an alternative start to allow this sort of thing.

I'm fine with an age being static, but it would be pretty cool to watch my younger character grow into a man.

Aging over time would really not be a good idea to implement. It's kind of pointless, considering just how long a WHOLE YEAR is, and how little of a difference that would make in terms of a character's age (Unless you play an old geezer and you croak).

Most likely you will be playing as an advlt with an adjustable age slider at the beginning
