Hi I have searched the forum and googled to no avail. I would appreciate it if anyone can help. I got the quest from the little girl in Vault 81 to find her cat, Ashes. I found the cat but I cannot interact with it (tried many times). Even reloading a previous save doesn't work. I can't find this bug documented anywhere?

Hope that I'm doing it right and would like to know please how to finish this quest?

Humm I have done it twice without problems. Both times I found the cat at the bottom of the hill. If I remember right all I did was try and talk with it, I mutter something about the girl missing her and for it to go home, which it did.

IIRC, it don't go into a dialogue interaction (dialogue wheel)..you still have to hit the interaction button on the cat tho...I believe your character just tells it to go home...so maybe you missed it? Have you tried running back to the girl in vault 81 to see if the cat returned?

I did go back to the vault to talk to the girl because I thought I missed something but she just repeated that she missed her cat. I then went back and tried to click on the cat again but with no luck. I reloaded and the same thing - no interaction with the cat.

Are you sure you found the correct cat? There are some stray cats around. If you are sure it is her cat then you must be bugged somehow.

Check the hill behind Vault 81, as there's usually a Yao Guai lurking about. Kill it. The cat won't return if it's anywhere near the entrance. Then, go down the hill by the lake. Ashes will be sitting next to a pier. Just go up and your character should auto-dialogue Ashes to get home.
