No more double-enchanting frustration!

Have you ever been tearing your hair out trying to get two enchantments on an item in the 30 second limit of your precious enchanting potion? I have, many times. If I'm doing a full armour and weapon set and forget to save each time it's a real pain in the necklace. The problem just gets worse the more enchantments you learn. Scrolling down that ever growing list and getting all the options checked (up to six in some cases) is so tricky, especially when your second enchantment is waterbreathing or something else at the bottom of the endless column.

I was attempting the feat on an item this morning. I got it first time but forgot to hit the enter key after re-naming the item. I shrugged and went back to my save. Five or six attempts later, I still hadn't managed it before the shock resistance value started to fall off. Now I was certainly not just shrugging.

In desperation (and before I threw the pc out of the window) I tried using all three words of the shout 'slow time' just before imbibing my nectar. Lo and behold, I managed to get full value enchantments with no trouble at all. I wish I'd found this out sooner, thinking back to all the times spent swearing at the screen in the past.

If you knew this already, cool. If you didn't, it might save your computer/console/marriage/relationship. It will certainly make double-enchanting a more relaxing pastime.

Cheers!

Major Edit ! I hope I'm allowed to shout that. This doesn't work! I was so happy when I tried it and managed the enchantments that I posted to let people know. However, I tried the same thing last night and took my time about it and failed. It's back to square one again regarding those tricky enchantments. I think all that happened originally was that trying something to help made me chilled out enough to do it. Sorry if people have read this and been keen to try it out. The 30 second thing is such a pain, especially when your character bends over to the enchanter like an octogenarian with severe arthritis in their back, using up several of them before you can even start!

My character doesn't do enough enchanting to realize the problem you described - so it would not have occurred to me. What a fun and useful thing to know about the Slow Time shout though! :goodjob:

Crafting potions with such a short active duration was always such a stupid idea. Here, let's add an arcade aspect to crafting where the player has to fight the interface just to utilize a normal aspect of an RPG such as a skill boosting potion. Thankfully there are numerous mods that alter the time limits on crafting potions to more reasonable levels, and your tip here as well of course.

To say nothing of how incredibly stupid it is to restrict certain enchantments to certain items, as if the part of the body an item is worn on somehow affects which enchantment can be placed there.

Great find about Slow Time!
