the best faction for interesting main missions in the end?

please don't use major spoilers here, as I haven't played any of them so far

I'm just at that point, where you have to decide between the 4 factions and I'd like to know which one of them has the more interesting, entertaining missions? ^^

I can't really decide morally between them, so I guess that's the way I'm gonna go :D

it's between 'shiny new science stuff' and 'cool power armor action' at this moment... I don't think the Minutemen or the Railroad will be able to offer enough, will they?

what do you think?

also: am I able to do the first institute missions, without the BoS getting hostile early on? Does the game tell you when the others become hostile?

Or will I just run into a vertibird one day, that starts shooting me? :/

thanks :D

Honestly all four of the factions have some really good end game quests. The Minutemen have the Defend the Castle quest, which is exactly what it sounds like. That quest is a blast. The Railroad have a quest that involves stealing a Vertibird from the Brotherhood of Steel, which is also a ton of fun. Personally I think the Brotherhood of Steel has the most enjoyable end game quests though. Ad Victoriam is simply a blast.

You can do quite a few of the Institute quests without making any other factions hostile. You can do all of the radiant quests and side quests, and you can do their main quest line up to Mass Fusion. If you complete Mass Fusion, you'll make the Brotherhood hostile. When you're about to do something that will make another faction hostile though, you get a big pop up informing you that you're going to make them hostile and asking you if you want to proceed.

In term of radiant quests:

Minutemen has the most sidequests after the ending, then the BOS, then the Institute, the the RR. I put the RR last because their quests are not infinite.

In term of interestng main quests:

All three endings result in the same thing, Institute ending is unique. I like the Institute quests the best, the the BoS, since both have very epic moments, especially the BoS.

Yes, that's a worthwhile point. The 'final' quests for the Minutemen, BoS, and Railroad are essentially the same quests. They differ slightly in how you get into the Institute, but once you're in there, the quests play out the same way. The Institute ending is quite distinct from the other three.

Personally I think it's well worth it to do all four faction endings. They all have different quests that are only accessible by siding with the given faction for the end game, and they all have slightly different outcomes. The easier to achieve endings are basically going to leave you with the Minutemen+your chosen faction intact. It's possible to end the game with the Minutemen, the Railroad, and the Brotherhood of Steel intact and friendly, but this requires slightly more careful decision making throughout the game.

so uhm... It seems like I can do both the Institute and the BoS until their Mass Fusion quests?

it's just a bit hard to imagine that :D

the last time I saw Maxton he told me to search for the institute... won't he expect me to tell him where it is now?

and won't that be a reason for the Institute to dislike me, if I share this secret information with their big enemy?
