Follower have SPECIAL ?

Hi, i try to find some information about SPECIAL point and follower since an hour and didn't found anything yet so i ask there .... :



Did companion (follower) take advantage of equipped stuff with Bonus to a SPECIAL attribute, like a +1 Perception or +1 Luck ??



i think for some Attribute like intelligence there is no impact and maybe that the same for Perception because they don't use VATS but did they have more carry weight and melee Physical damage with Strength ?


And for Endurance ? They Maybe don't care about the longer sprint bonus but maybe not for the bonus HP.



If someone can tell me, Thanks a lot !

Well its kinda hard to confirm before the tool kit is out and folks can start digging deep in the code, fallout wiki claims they do and list them but again, until the tool kits out you should take it with a pinch of salt.

--.-- Thanks bethesda ... i can understand they need time for the Geck, this is normal. But they can give to player an interesting FAQ with deep game mechanics ... even more for those who play in hardcoe survival mod (with mods of course, without there is nothing hard even in survial)



I have a so bad feeling with fallout 3 ... like an unfinished game but worst, like they didn't pay attention on all famous mod in F3 and NV ... there is so mush feature people want to see and ... F4 is like F3-NV, without hardcoe mod without ammo crafting, without skill, and some new feature (settlement, Power armor, crafting and romance) and that all ... nothing really amazing ...


Don't flame me guys, ok Power armor and settlement are really nice, but even if settlement are cool the item are really amazingly limited, i am pretty sure about the reason ! because PC player can handle more object in the area than Console so they nerfed this, same for the number of different item, more diversity mean more video memory usage. That like for Watch dog, PC player are [censored] ! because the game is release on Console too, so they don't care and give us the same game, that boring because who is [censored] ? those who buy a PC who cost mush more, nice isn't it ?



And where is the vehicle ? the hardcoe system ? Morphing is cool but again we cant play as a kid, what ? not lore etc ? ok, so why cant we still not being a ghoul ??? why radiation only make us loosing maximum life ? where are the malus effect ? And the worst ...:


WTF IS THIS AUTO REGEN WHEN CRIPPLE ????



Really ? what's next ? no more stimapk ? sorry for those who love battelwallet, call of money etc, but auto-regen in fallout ? really ?



hopefully there is mod, but one day we will don't need game society anymore, modders will not just mod but create a entire game, that still start with crown founding and some mods who are bigger and greater than DLC. Than not the devs fault, i am 100% sure about this, that those Big both who just look at there waller everyday and swin in a pool of $. Devs have amazing idea that sure, but because of the casual (no offense, i mean "the game must suit to the most people possible") and money rule you offer nothing than just a nice world, yes, nice graphics ... hmm yes, but bad optimized, and nothing else, all the mechanics are dirty old, and didn't synergies with each other.



We still can shot someone, hide 5m away "just my imagination !" ... really ? after all the joke and video of this subject on INTERNET you still di no effort give us a better sneaking system ? pffff , what a shame and lack.



Look at the game who are made when they listen there community, they are amazing and deep in every mechanics. Your Fallout 4 can be release in the same time as F3 and we will just say "woot, great visual" , there is no enhancement at all ! you jsut replace some feature by some other.


I don't think i will buy the next Elder Fallout game.



Finaly, Obsidian did a greater job with F NV than you did with F4 and you can be happy to have the license of Black isle, without it and his universe , the game will be a real shame. 2 Fallout since F3 and 1 Skyrim later you still don't understand player.

Actually, you can get the SPECIAL statistics of any NPC using the Console using the 'getav' command. As long as you're querying a specific attribute, the game will give it to you. For example, using the command 'getav endurance' on Codsworth returns a value of 7, so Codsworth has 7 Endurance. I also tested whether companions benefit from SPECIAL-boosting gear by equipping him with a Bowler Hat; they do. Codsworth's Endurance jumped from 7 to 8 when the hat was equipped.



Also, OP, you don't regenerate limb health automatically. Limb Health is restored in several ways: sleeping, using a Stimpak, or talking to a doctor. Most attacks that cripple you also deal significant damage, so chances are you took a Stimpak as soon as you were crippled, and that healed your limbs at the same time.

Thanks for the command, i already know this, but even if the game tell me that my follower effectively gain he +1, i don't know this stat give to them, same as the character or not ? who know ...



BTW, about the Cripple, sorry you do a big mistake because, like you said, when you are cripple you use a stimpak or else, and when you use something who heal and isn't a stimpak you didn't have any effect on cripple limb, only stimpak have on, and "instant" remove the Cripple slow or sight effect when used, the life of the parts cripple need some time to be healed and can be accelerate with a stimpak.



But i confirm (and you can check it, gopher mad a video too and talk about this) that when you are cripple, you regenerate your parts without using a stimpak, around 10 or 30 second, didn't remember. you use nothing, no stimpak, no perk or else, and your stop being cripple after a moment.


That why i use a mod who totally remove this feature and re introduce doctor bag and disable the cripple heal when sleeping.



I wasn't crying without a good knowledge of my subject, sorry :'(

I don't know, they might use it but what would they need AP or luck for? They don't have VATS.

Not sure about SPECIAL for combat etc, but I just did a quick test and can confirm that they are taken into account at least for companion carry weight.



Gave companion a legendary armour piece with STR +1 - did NOT equip it on them, just dumped in inventory.


Picked up junk from workshop.


Dumped as much as the companion could take into their inventory, so they were totally full, couldn't take even another 0.1 lb.


Equipped the armour piece on them.


They were able to accept over 20lb more stuff from me.



So the STR is definitely taken in to account for this.


It seems reasonable to assume that SPECIAL-boosting items are worth giving to your companions, even if they don't do VATS.


Not sure what if any impacts the other stats might have on them.



I wonder if they're more accurate if you boost their Agility, do more melee damage if you boost Strength? Get more criticals if you boost Luck?


No way to know for sure without the Geck, but for now I'm going to assume they do, based on just this one simple test.

i would imagine every npc in game has SPECIAL including radroaches, i'm curious how it effects settlers as far as food/water production and the shops; it seems a lot of the settlement mechanics mimic Fallout Shelter, and if you played that u know that the boosts to SPECIAL definitely made a difference

About fallout shelter i never play it but gopher talk a lot of this game on his last video "mod i want to see in F4", and he talk about a possible mod in future to make the settlement be like fallout shelter. i think that totaly possible, we still see modulate castle etc in Skyrim, so why not something under earth like that with the new mechanics of fallout, that away of the topic subject but really interesting for the future.


Well, if i talk about Fallout shelter too that because on the wiki when i take a look on the piper page i see some SPECIAL stat, and that this who bring me there, because it is wrote "fallout shelter SPECIAL".



And so i asking my self the question of the follower SPECIAL etc.



And so ... why did they not add to Fo4 something like Fallout Shelter for the settler micro management than just "bad, food,security" and only 4 job ... Guardian,sell,farm,salvage ... woot, so mush deep game play mechanics ! Did you have Fallout shelter in your game library ? yes ?



Interesting ... interesting .... Ho wait ! let mod authors do the job, let take a coffee and swim in our pool of $, #yoloidontCare
