Have Xbox Version. Is PC v. worth it?

Agreed. Think of games you want that have yet to come out, that may require that little extra you put in now. It will save you money down the road.

Also agreed. The very first computer I ever owned I built myself with help from people here and the internet. Anyone who can read and knows how to fit Tab A into Slot B kinda thing can do it. I ended up with, for the limited funds what was a fairly decent enough computer.

You will definitely get more bang for you buck doing it yourself. Well worth the effort! Especially if like me and learning new things is fun, whatever they be. :)

Yup yup.

Hubs would be building the machine.

He's the tech head. I realize it can't be a cheap one but I'm due for something decent, anyway.

Have been banging on that POS HP laptop for a few years now. It's toast.

thanks for the recs, I'll pass them on to the guru, maybe he doesn't know about them.

My GPU, CPU, motherboard, case, SSD each individually cost more than a console :) Computer is a beast that I upgrade parts on every so often, and one motherboard-based build can last a good many years of outperforming expectations for any new game, when you upgrade the GPU (and misc) inbetween. About to upgrade from motherboard (so new mb/CPU/RAM) just because.

If you buy a pre-built PC you won't get very good parts (like the motherboard or PSU will be cheap), and those things are very important as bases to build a good PC with. Better to build one yourself from scratch, it will last longer and perform much better.
