Rhys is one of the biggest reasons I will not work with that particular faction. There are other reasons, of course. Virtually every one of that group that I've encountered has been rude and/or condescending. Additionally, I think their goals are completely out of whack. But getting back to Rhys -- he really sets my teeth on edge. I have a strong dislike for rude, arrogant people and those qualities just ooze from him. Ick.
Kudos to Rhys' writer(s) and to his voice actor for creating and bringing such a completely unlikeable character to life! Well done!
When I turned against the Brotherhood, and had my first standup battle with them, the very first BoS I killed was Rhys...purely coincidental.
No doubt, the guy is an obnoxious dude.
Ha - I hate that guy too!
I've come back to these quests a bit late in the game (I'm level 56), so I'm knocking them out one after the other. Like 6 in a row without breaks, some in mere minutes. Every time he comments as if I'm some unproven rookie.
"You'd better have that job done..." says Rhys (or something similar).
"Uh yeah, I just completed 6 tasks in less than an hour (play time), while you've slept, or sat at your desk. What rank are you anyway? You svck dude. Seriously. At least mix up your responses a bit."
I even did a separate save just so I could kill him. I've never done that before in a game.
Halen and Dense are the only BoS members I like. If I could convice them to leave and join the Minuteman I would.
I'll see your Rhys and raise you Sturges saying "Our little Sanctuary revival-project is coming along nicely, But I cant take all the credit...."
AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!
What the ~F~ have you even done besides bang on the same part of the side of that house with a hammer while I've been knee-deep in blood for a hundred levels now ? ! ?
When I'm finally ready to put this game away after all the DLC are done....... KILLING SPREE. Smug hammer boy is first.
I also find it super annoying that he continues to be a [censored] even after you've become a Paladin.
In short, Bethesda style. It never has been any different, neither in Elder Scroll games, nor in Fallout. NPCs don't react to your achievements, even if you're way above their paygrade.
I can't for the life of me understand, how Bethesda doesn't see how immersion breaking this is. 12 years since Morrowind and this nuisance is still there.
Yeah, Rhys has Ruby's (my SS) fists itching to poke him in the nose when he pulls his snark. I LIKE Ingrem, Heylin...hmm, actually I think those are the only two BoS members I've met that I like. The rest I'm ready to give lead poisoning to. (Including Danse.)
I usually take headshots. Rhys... him I shot in both legs.
There's a lot of things they don't react to that they really should.
and yes, Rhys is a huge (censored).
Yeah, beth missed the boat on that one big time. I find it absolutely hilarious that Farengar still suggests that if I have an interest in magic, I should check out the Mages College at winterhold, as I stand there in the Archmages robes.......
I don't know, he has the best butt in the game, moreso than the women.
One of the main drawbacks to voice acting, IMO. I'd love to mod in flavor lines for different companions in different locations, but without the voice acting, it's jarring and artificial.
Not saying I'd prefer to go without, mind you. One of the things I really love about BioWare is how they recognize that one huge thing that makes people people is how much they talk.
"So you're Brynjolf's new protoge? Don't look like much to me"
Gee, nice thing to say to the GUILDMASTER!
When has a bethesda game properly recognized your rank?
