Beds in settlements

Ah, the folly of player beds - I am well aware of the ability to assign settlers to specific beds but as one's settlement population grows this can become impractical. Hence it can become difficult to prevent settlers from using a bed that is meant for, for example, the player.


Does anyone know of any workaround for this? I'm aware of the old setownership command from Skyrim but somehow I don't think that would actually achieve the desired effect, and that's if the command is still in the game.

Simple: take the bed when not in use (i.e., store it in the workshop) and replace it when you want to sleep.



An alternative that requires a little more work is to use the fact that AIs cannot jump. You can put the PC's bed behind a fence or similar barrier that cannot be reached without jumping and the AIs cannot reach it to use it.

Ofcourse its an Solution but an bad one, i mean we just want a Player Bed. :sadvaultboy:

2nd runthrough diary:



Day 1:



Met some dude named Preston, who appears to have rescued a mental health self-help group. Took them to Sanctuary and got them established.



Day 2:



Abandoned Sanctuary and the group, and moved my personal camp to Red Rocket. Started building wall around it, as found out that Dogmeat can open doors but not shut them...didn't like Radstag being chased by Feral Mongrel running through my living space.



Day 3:



Visited whiners at Sanctuary, then returned to Red Rocket for the serenity.





Basically, nothing I tried worked to stop settlers bed hopping or gear poaching, so I have simply set up a bachelor pad at the Rocket...eventually, I'll just move in my favourite or most used companions (excepting Preston 'Boy Scout' Garvey).
