Getting rid of dead bodies in settlements...why can't we?

Post » Fri Jan 22, 2016 6:13 am

I haven't even bothered considering Covenant as a settlement for this reason. I chose to not side with them, so I have all bodies there too.

I dragged them out the front gate, one by one, and dumped them over the guard rail. (all the pieces, too ---- grizzly)

Yep, it can be rather annoying. Especially when it's the flying Brahmin that fall to their death and you can't drag their fat ass out of the settlement.

I dumped the bodies in the river, they floated away, and I don't think they've reappeared.

I used that spot as an open graveyard where I dragged all the cockraoches and bloatflies. After some days there were only the wings, a half dog and that raider's foot. The rest sunk into the ground.

Another thing that's really annoying. I was all pissed off about that freakin body up in the lighthouse and decided to chop it up into pieces to see if that worked. Well, it didn't work. And now it seems like the game is mocking me because when the body respawns it comes back in pieces. The worst part is that sometimes an eyeball or something falls through the floor and I find it on the stairs. So damn annoying. Seriously, I can deal with most glitches and bugs but this issue that is neither glitch nor bug irks the hell out of me.

Sorry, that made me laugh. I'm pretty sure I've tried that too, with some of those ghouls at Sunshine Tidings. And that stupid bloody raider at Sanctuary, I looted his Raider Leathers early in the game, so now I've always got a naked raider corpse to greet me at the bridge with his dead dog.

I can get rid of most, but there is one that I can't, so I just put a bed over him. His hand sticks out a little though.

I carried the raider's body, whole, dumped it in the river. It came back.

I tried to carry the dog, too heavy (???), blew him to pieces tossed him in the river. It came back.

I blew the raider to pieces, tossed the pieces in the river. Not only did the raider return, he was carefully arranged to properly resemble the human form.

I think Bethesda is trolling me...

Many of my "settlements" are ghost towns for this reason.

It's possible that it is intentional, a supernatural-themed easter egg.

other then the dog/raider/scavenger on the bridge to Sanctuary, I've never had an issue with carrying bodies and dumping them out of sight. They never come back. Now the blood splatter... would be nice if that could go away.

Bodies as "set pieces" seem to return. Bodies of those stupid enough to cross the "Line of Death" outside my settlements do not respawn, in my experience.

The ones that made me laugh were at Drumlin Diner. I came back and dogmeat barked at the corpse (before I started cleaning up my messes) and went over and low and behold there was a whole set of gear on the head and the other body. So I just went and put the head on one of the tables outside and put the other body in a chair. I check real quick when I come to sell stuff, to grab those few extra items off the bodies there.

Or the dead bodies at the end of the Sanctuary Hills bridge.

Or the dead brahmin down the road from Red Rocket.

Or the molehills in Red Rocket.

Or glowing piles from laser weapon kills.

Or…

Or…

Seriously, gamesas, these things need to go away. Once I've settled an area, let me clean up.

Also, please stop things disappearing that I don't want to disappear, like the Mr Handy at Sunshine Tidings Coop.

i decide to visit the settlers at Concord in the middle of the night.

The old guy that sits around all day doing nothing was up because i had scrapped his bed.

I couldn't assign him to another bed so i knifed him when no one was looking.

The knifing made a bloody mess.

i carried the half dozen body parts over the river to another game cell.

Later when i returned to concord I noticed a neatly arranged pile of body parts on the fast travel mat which i had placed in a doorway.

Spooky..

The game needs a new assignment available for settlers.

One should be the undertaker, a secondary task to scrapping.

Croup Manor I have bodies hanging through the openings in the roof/floor. Very annoying to build and the body pieces still poke through.

Does the cannibal perk make them disappear for good? Might try it if it does.

The guy and dog at sanctuary, I threw the guy in the river. When he came back he had stuff on him again. I take all the stuff and come back in a few days he is restocked again.

The bodies are true horror.

For example, the lady corpse at Taffington Boathouse. I carried her all the way and dumped her to the lake. She went back to the dying spot when I came back.

The ghouls at Croup Manor too. I dragged them all the way down to the sea and they went back...

And it seems only ex-enemies and ex-non settlers whose got the body stayed.

I also heard if you move the bodies before you click on the workbench the bodies won't come back.

In Fallout New Vegas, there′s a guy, Caleb McCaffery, whose body never disappear. I liked.

I always dismembered his body, carried the pieces away from my sight and left his head there to use as container. Always stores several items there, every time I passed through the Strip. Too much trouble go to the Presidential Suit in the Lucky 38.

Unfortunately, it is not the case here, since you can build your own containers of various types and forms. The bodies serve only to give headache to us.

But, IMHO, nothing, NOTHING is more annoying than those damn roofs of Sanctuary′s houses. I have the raw material. I have the manpower. I have the money. I have the will.

So why the hell I can not fix this crap? Save me moders.

LOL I chopped the corpse in front of the Sanctuary bridge.

Threw the body pieces away to the river. Next time I came back, the corpse went back to the exact same spot again - in pieces like puzzle... LOL
