after PC beta installed, I witnessed something strange I never saw before.

I had Cait with me at Sanctuary. Preston is a guard there. Trashcan Carla standing in street smoking. I am trying to get one more like from Cait for her affinity, so I nonchalantly sneak up behind Carla and pickpocket her (had 50% chance). She notices something happening, says "Whoa there!" and then all of a sudden, Cait and the rest of the 19 settlers turn her into swiss cheese!

The whole time I see her and her Brahmin as enemy red, but nobody else.

Then, Preston comes around a corner and he is all of a sudden gone red and starts a fight with me and Cait. now, the settlers did not turn on either of us or Garvey but kept up assault on the unkillable Brahmin and keep dropping Carla to her knees.

So here we are, I get to drop Preston over and over, Cait literally smacking Carla up and down the street, and the entire town trying to kill that dang cow!

was bliss!!

btw, I thought it may reset leaving and coming back, but it didn't. had to load a save, but it was worth it!!

Did you wait 24 hours before returning to Sanctuary? IIRC it takes time for those hot heads to cool off...

last time I tried was over a month ago, but the whole town turned on me when Carla caught me.

But if you want to just chill and watch your companion and her or preston duke it out, give it a try! It was quite entertaining..

Weird, the last time I got caught stealing, the whole town defended me against the merchant instead. It happened in Santuary and Bunker Hill, as long as I don't accidentally hit anyone in town, everyone helps me attack the merchants.
