Settlement attacks, would this be possible.......?

Im guessing this may be something that will NEED the G.E.C.K.

A lot of people are complaining about the necessity of responding to settlement attacks, namely:-

1: Warnings not on screen for long enough, leading to "missed" attacks that result in a LOSE scenario.

2: No REAL reason to repel the attacks except the inconvenience of having to repair some stuff.

3: Making it so that theirs actually a POINT in building defenses/arming settlers.

As for the message, theres a great mod here:- http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4106/? This basically "Changes the 2 second message when a settlement is attacked to a standard message box".

As for the last 2 points, would it be possible to make an Mod (optional) that would prevent a "lose" scenario and hold off the attack indefinitely until the player attends the scene AND also locks the use of ANY Workbench in the game until the settlement attack is resolved one way or the other (this would of course create the necessity to deal with it) ?

This last part is the bit im guessing is beyond the scope of what is available to be done at this time.

Any thoughts/ideas?

The entire settlement system feels as if Bethesda got half way through it then said "Yeah. That'll do. Mods can finish this off." The fact that giving my 15+ settlers all mini-guns and full combat armour and 10 heavy laser turrets still will result in a auto failure if I dont show up is rather silly.

It also, as you said, has no reason for attacks aside from a mild inconvenience. There isn't some rival raider gang that actually grows with power the more settlements they successfully raid. There is no reward to the player aside from some more pipes and the odd legendary pair of pants.
