Interesting settlement locations

Post » Fri Jan 22, 2016 1:21 pm

So I was pretty excited when I realized you can build on the overpass at greyditch, you can do the same at finch farm. Made houses on boats in spectacle, stilt houses in murkwater. The lighthouse makes a hilarious rocket turret base.

Next project is hangmans alley, wish npcs would stop spawning in the walls there.

Greyditch is in Fallout 3 so I am pretty you meant Graygarden.

I find the highway overpass to be a bit annoying since unassigned settlers generally hang out on the couch which causes me to use the TCL console command so that I can "fly" up there to assign them to something which fixes that issue. At the moment I have only created a perimeter wall that uses half of the available space because of the steep slope. I might expand it later, but I don't plan on having more than 8 settlers there at most; currently there are only 4.

Some of the enemies have interesting settlements too, like the one in Libertalia, where a ship wreckage submerged vertically into the sea is used for wooden shacks built on the side of the ship. I wish we would get more interesting locations like that for our own settlements.

Greygarden is cool but Hangmans Alley is a Disaster. Not much Space for Crops, Beds, Scavenger Stations and whatever you need in every Settlement.

Hangmans is great. You can just about clear the ground level and go highrise with access to the rooftops.

But your Workshop Menu just works on half Way. There is nothing on the Rooftops so i dont really care to come up there.

I think I've gotten all of the available settlement locations, except for The Slog. I wish there were a few more, as I've run across some locations that seem perfect for settlements. One of them was an RV park with a pool. Would be a perfect location.

Yeah, there was a spot I wanted to build a settlement on south of Diamond City. Forget what it was called, but there is a ring of houses there that looks a lot like Tranquility Lane from Fallout 3.

Yeah. I love those places.

I make a mansion on the hill of Spectacle Island. I also make a stilt apartment at Murkwater on the water.

As for Egret Tours Marina, I used the boat house as my pad and used the hanged wooden boat to put my bed on. And the building is connected to second floor main office where there are modification tables.

I also built a two floored cottage on the beach of Nordhagen. As for the settlers, I built a simple home connected to a dock with Bartender. So when it's evening, they are all sitting down together by the sea.

Not all are big buildings, though. I used the Hangman Alley for modification zone. I only have 2 settlers there to guard and to take care of crops. I used the prebuilt shack as their home, while I built a small hideout on the canopy (sorry, I don't know the better word) above where the weapon modification table was placed on default.

Apparently I'm not into fortress type of settlement. So I always make a home, apartment, or hideout.

I have a large cantilevered house on Spectacle Island and surrounded the island with concrete blocks. I'm the only one living on the whole island.
