Like many I am taking my time playing thru my second ss, and getting many recurrent radiant quests. I have assumed that everyone else had the same experience as me, but haven't seen it mentioned, so:



When I get a quest to go to someplace I have already cleared, the resident opponents are right where they fell, but with a full health bar. They seem oblivious to that fact, however, and just lay there. If I want to waste ammo, I can rekill them and often get new loot. Usually I just stroll through the wreckage until I get to to head perp and waste him to complete the quest.



I've figured it was the same for everyone, but with all the complaining about bugs on the forum, I've not seen this mentioned. Have I not read far enough, or do I have a problem with my installation?

Um. I've never had that bug. Could still be "common" and I've just been lucky. I also don't do a whole lot of radiant missions ---- I'll get a mission to talk to a settler about a mission, take my sweet time to talk to him... then take a while to DO it, then take a while to talk to the settler, and then ~never~ talk to Garvey until it auto-completes later on. I have been sent to the same location for kidnap missions back to back, but when I went the second time, there were no foes respawned at all, so I just walked in, unlocked the door and told the kidnapped guy to get out and never attacked anyone.

Interesting. Actually, the bug isn't limited to radiant quests. Any where I go my companion may stop and attack a live corpse, or settlers will run off to rekill a rabid dog laying in the street a quarter mile away.


It's actually quite annoying and if there's a chance it would be corrected I will reinstall the game after I've finished this run.

The bug is caused by respawning npcs that were frozen or chunked. Reinstalling never fixes bugs you're just wasting time and bandwidth.

What I see when being sent to a radiant location again is that the kidnapping victim is they're alone. No enemies.


Only seems to happen with kidnappings: defenses don't repeat within a game week, and I don't remember a "go clear" that took me to the same spot.
