This is my first post, I actually signed up just to ask about this, because I was unable to find any information about anyone else having this issue.

Anyway, I've been a part of the Brotherhood of Steel for a while at this point. I've done countless quests for them, and honestly it's been one of my favorite parts of the game thus far. I was just doing the quest where you have to clear out Big John's Salvage, and I noticed that there were already a few Brotherhood members there attacking the super mutants. So myself and Paladin Danse cleared out the rest of the super mutants.

Once we were finished, I was instructed to go back to the Prydwen to turn in the quest, but when I arrived there I was literally being attacked by the ENTIRE Brotherhood of Steel. I never attacked any of them or anything. I reloaded a save from when I was back at the junkyard, tried again, and the same thing happened.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe I killed one of the Brotherhood members at the junkyard while clearing out the super mutants? Would that lead to the whole brotherhood attacking me? I just thought it was strange because Paladin Danse never attacked me at any point before returning to the Prydwen.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Once, one Star Paladin attacked me after clearing a checkpoint, but I realized that I accidentally hit him with the explosion of a missile. Reloaded, take care, and everything is right.

Maybe, if you accidentally killed some BoS member, it may be a motive to the entire faction attack you. Danse will only "dislike" if you kill just one, but keep your companion

And if you go to the Airport? The soldiers in ground are also aggressive? If no, try to get in the vertibird to the Prydwen.

By the way, what is your rank inside the Brotherhood? Knight?

I don't think killing one of those random patrols makes them aggressive to you, although I could be wrong. My guess is that one of your quests has resulted in making them want to shoot you in the face. There are several that can do that, including some BoS quests.

Either that or Elder Maxson decided that that was the last time you set foot on the Prydwen without wiping your feet first.

I'm pretty sure that I'm a General in the BoS. I haven't done the Blind Betrayal quest yet either. I'm thinking I should just reload my save from before the junkyard quest, and just be SUPER careful to not damage any of the BoS members.

I haven't tried going to the airport yet, but I did go to the police department where Haylen and Rhys are, and all of the members there attacked me as well, so I'm assuming they would do the same at the airport.

General is a rank of the Minutemen, hahaha. Probably just Initiate. And, yes, good idea: in this case I think that the best option is reload one save file dated before the incident and see what happens.

But Glurin said one important thing. Some BoS quests can make you an enemy of them. Obviously it will not be randomly of just for a small detail. If you read the dialogues and think before saying something, that's impossible to happen.

If I'm not wrong, this quest to clear Big John's Salvage is one of those radiant quests (those that never end, and are the same, but in different locals), like "Quartermastery" given by the lovely Scribe Haylen or "Cleansing the Comonwealth", given by Knight Rhys. If it is, those quests don't decide your fate in the faction. They are just "do this to receive some caps, discover new locations and get XP and items". Probably (and I hope so) was some incident during the fight.

Try reloading the save and tell me what happens. If it still persists, let's try to find another solution. But make sure that before that quest the BoS members were still friendly, to isolate the possibility that was some misunderstood during the quest.

Big John's Salvage, is that out near the South Boston Checkpoint?

In the past I've wandered over there (with Danse and as a Knight), just exploring, and saw a vertibird drop some BoS soldiers, then fight it out. I hadn't got close enough for the muties to notice me but, upon activating VATS I've noticed all the BoS soldiers coming up red, which I thought strange. Once a mutie spots us none of the other BoS soldiers shoot at us, nor come up on my HUD as being enemies, only in VATS.

But, I've not had any issues on the Prydwen afterwards. I don't know what was going there.

I'm now on the beta patch but haven't been back that way to check if it's still the same or not.

With me, also happens some (rare) times. In V.A.T.S., BoS members are in red. But non-aggressive. Just a bug.

Once, a vertibird landed near me, and Cait, my companion at the the time, started shooting at them. And all the soldier shooting back. I don't know what happened, but I reloaded the last save, saw the vertibird, but there wasn't any trouble.

I think that those are just bugs.

Are you sure you haven't progressed far enough in any other storylines to a point where you can still keep Danse, but have turned the BoS hostile?

You have encountered a bug. The brotherhood of steel on the prydwen will not be aware of you killing any BOS in the commonwealth.
