Concept is good, but once again, the realization renders it yet another pointless feature; just another weather type :meh:

Oh well, i'm sure mods will fix them into something that you want to watch, because it's beautiful, but you can't, because it will kill you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0Z6CxmiCwY
Yes, this again :P :bolt:

It;s just weather. Like Skyrim and everything else has different weather. I'm not sure it was meant to be a meant to be a mini game or anything. Just cool looking weather.

I got a mod that makes each lightning strike in radstorms fill up about a 5th of my health bar without protection. Good thing I have lots of rad-X.

I kinda wish they were longer. They're not threatening and I don't think they were meant to be, but they indeed look very nice.

and on a related note, I believe true storms gives rad storms a passive 2-3 rads a second, and I picked the plugin that gives the glowing sea a passive 24 rads a second to make it actually dangerous.

Yup, not much to fear there. This at least makes it look and sound cooler: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4472/?

The Glowing Sea is large area with constant radiation and you'll be sent there as the main quest progresses.

Probably the coolest unique immersive weather type in any game I've ever played.

I know. One of my favorite parts of the game is to look from outside the Rocky Cave and see the silhouette of the city skyline when the lightning strikes. Say what you will about the graphics, this game has some of the best weather and lighting effects I've seen.

They are nice. Nothing like a Stalker emission though. They will kill anything not well protected. The F4 ones, I ignore, so little RAD damage.

Kinda wish they did more. Scramble your pipboy, screw with energy weapons, make your radio blip weird sounds and change frequencies.

Do keep in mind though, that cloud pillar blowout is from a mod. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpdYowwjF8g is as lame as the rad storms.

Still deadly, though.

Storms should be more powerful and deadly the higher your difficulty setting is. You really should have to run for cover, as it is, once I hit level 40, I ignored the rad absorption totally.

Long before the game had dropped, I remember speculating about weather damage ala Stalker. My thoughts were of a glowing type fog that immediately killed your AP, so that if you heard the siren warning, or saw the glowing cloud billowing your way you had to seek cover/shelter or die in 30 seconds from radiation poisoning. Pretty easy to imagine laboring and panting like your overburdened and hoping you can make it to a door...before keeling over.... BGS got vaguely close to it, its really just a thunderstorm from Skyrim with green coloring painted in...

I also love the storms! I like to sit on my roof and watch them. I think it's another reason why I love the glowing sea. THIS is a true wasteland.
