How many versions of Fallout 4 exist?

Post » Mon Jan 25, 2016 7:23 am

Hello,

I'm completely new to the Fallout serie. I plan to buy Fallout 4, but before I would like to know how many versions of this game exist? What I mean is I'm sitting here in Germany and I can buy a DVD-version at a retailer that is for persons older than 18 years of age. Allegedly, these version is uncut, but it means nothing in Germany. I can buy movies and games that are advertised as 'uncut' and in forums I can read that these uncut titles are not uncut.

So I would like to know: is there really an uncut version for advlts available?

Thank you very much in advance!

No, there's only one version of the game available. There are different 'editions' available, like the anthology collection that comes with Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, 3, New Vegas, and 4, but the actual games aren't changed.

It's more some regions have censorship of product, Germany is one of those.

What does Germany censor these day? I know they used to censor anything Nazi related but thought they stopped? Is there anything in Fallout 4 they would possibly do that too?

mostly blood, some areas don't allow severed body parts, you wouldn't notice unless they are side by side what is different, but the game would likely feel off.

German Authorities say most mediums for advlts contain so-called 'glorification of violence' material and hence such titles are banned. E.g. if you play a zombie game with gore and blood this can be an argument for authorities to ban that medium. Unfortunately, I can not say anything about Fallout-game, because as I told before I'm a newbie to the serie.

The 2nd strange point is in Germany that authorities believe if a retailer sells a medium, which is for advlts only, minors will also get such advlt versions, anyway. So we have to travel to Austria (!) to buy uncut games or movies.

It has nothing to do with Nazis.

As an advlt resident of Germany I feel patronized and deviled by German authorities.

Interesting. I retract my previous statement then. I was unaware of this.

What about the region-control at Steam? A friend of me told me it may be possible that Steam can refuse to activate a foreign key to a German Steam-account....

I admire you that you live in Illinois in the beautiful United States of America where you have real freedom....I have been in NYC, L.A. and Vegas during vacations. I had a great time there. But this is a little bit off-topic. Sorry.

This time there is no censored german version. It has the same amount of blood and gore as all other versions. Germany is really softening up on those stupid censorship laws in recent time.

Nazi stuff is still censored in Germany/Austria, and that will not go away for a long time.

I would not bother buying the physical disc version of Fallout 4 because you still need to download most of the game to install. Just buy the game through Steam.
