Alright, so with the info on the new leveling system I feel that I'm left with even more questions than when I knew nothing. We now know that you will level up faster if you train a few skills rather than all of them (Skills that you actively use), but my question is will you get further by leveling slowly? Instead of taking the quick route would it be wiser to level slowly and possibly double or triple your overall level by training every skill at once instead of just going with a few select skills?
"Raising one skill from 34 to 35 is going to level you faster than raising one from 11 to 12" - Todd Howard
If the game logs the skills you use, and gives you more experience for frequently using those skills, will using all of the skills end up in an insane amount of experience gained much later down the road by keeping each skill for the most part at the same level as the next? Will this allow you to level up slower but gain a much higher level, and possibly get every perk in the game? Is it possible to attain godhood through being a jack of all trades? Am I completely out of my mind? If this is so, do you plan on taking the quick route or the scenic route (regardless of the circumstances)?
That's the thing, that's the point of TES, you have to play to find out which way is the best for your character. The character is yours to mold to your will and half the fun is making tons of characters see which one feels better with what build
Hes got a point.
I am a bit confused how does 31-32 differ from 14-15?
I need a more in depth details on this or to just actually play the game to get a feel for the level/exp design.
Okay, here is the in depth explanation, I will probably repost my in depth explanations of the Skyrim information tomorrow since I'm going to bed after explaining this here. When you level a skill it counts towards advancing your level, like the old system. When leveling a skill, leveling a lower level skill such as 14-15 will give you less toward a level than leveling a skill from 31-32. This encourages that players level a select few skills to level quickly but at the cost of lack of multiple skills where as the system also discourages players from leveling all your skill equally because that would bring your leveling to a crawl. It leaves it to being a balancing act where the player can choose their own path. Do they want to level 8 skills to max which was previously prohibited in the older games for overall character level purposes but they can also choose if they want to boost their leveling quickly early on in the game they can narrow their leveling down to a couple of specializations such as maxing out Blade and Restoration so that they can get the perks that go with the higher levels of the two skills. This system truly has taken customization to a new level imo. Night guys, I'll repost my explanations in the morning.
