I prefer the original map still, especially the way the "boss" fight was laid out.

I was still impressed by this, and as I went through the level I kept thinking "man this guy is still a genius." Lots of "foreshadowing" getting to see where you'd head and lots of "I remember that area I wondered how to get there."
