Fallout's hidden message

Post » Wed Jan 27, 2016 10:20 am

World War 3.

The end of mankind and life itself. The destruction of everything we know and love. The writers of fallout are full aware of the approaching doom of humanity. Fallout's premise of nuclear war devastating the world isn't far fetched. It is well within the realm of possibility, and it is going to happen. These people of power are crazy. War is a necessary means of sustaining the United States debt based economy, because we must force other countries to conduct trade with their oil using the Dollar.

Russia and china are in the process of forming their own financial system called BRICS which conducts transactions that do not involve the US dollar. This is going to be the main reason of world war 3. This is why In fallout, The United States was in a "Great War" with Russia and China.

Fallout's setting of a world completely torn apart by nuclear war is just so saddening, but yet it is enlightening because at least we see some rebuilding of humanity. Noble community's like the Brother of Steel and the NCR in fallout new vegas are good to see, even though you could argue that they have their own agenda. There is so much death and killing, people are struggling to survive day by day. All due to the lunatics in power disregarding human life.

This is what makes Fallout such a great game and sets it apart from any other franchise. It's depressing but yet amazing at the same time. It gives us a glimpse into the struggle of humanity to rebuild, to thrive.

Methinks you meant life as we knew it, but yes i must adimt sometimes when you see the skeleton sitting on the benches, you wonder what story is behind that, did they know or were they just innocently just sitting down taking a breather and one falsh and your ash, a nasty case of terminal sunburn, and the survivors with their very short logs.

Probably too much real life politics for this to remain open, yet it is true that thanks to MAD, as long as super powers have nukes in silos ready to launch, the end of the world is always just one mistake and hours away.

But hey, even with nukes humans are will only be able to kill themselves. The planet will live on, and hopefully in time produce intelligent life :P

Funny, I had a sales rep at the door the other day. Kept telling me I'm special and I will have a bright future if I just sign up to (then I slammed the door). I better read that leaflet he posted through the letter box.

You may be reading too much into it, OP. To me, the whole theme is that war never changes. No matter what happens, we'll find some way to fight each other over what we think is the right thing, the just thing. Whether set after a nuclear war, 1850 Crimea, or 10,000 BCE, humans will find a way to keep fighting for either survival, or over an idea they believe so passionately about that they're willing to kill for it.

I remember when Nick asked me which side I considered the winner of the war. I think it was the chinese for striking first, but now I am not sure.

Fallout's real message is that american patriotism and bloodlust will end up [censored] the entire world.

I think the message is "We stopped caring about computer games, so should you. Go out and enjoy the weather."

Also, BoS is a bunch of militant jackasses who thinks they have a noble goal.

Your argument is entirely contradictory. You realise that, right?

If war is a means to sustain a debt based economy, then surely a thermonuclear apocalypse will do everything to destroy that. Just as such a thermonuclear apocalypse is contradictory to almost every other goal.

MAD (mutually assured destruction) is still very much a thing. Unless some psychotic lunatic presses a button, nuclear warfare is not going to happen.

Yes it is a thing, which is why a nuclear war will happen. Unless all nuclear weapons are dismantled. Which is never going to happen.

Sure MAD has prevented WW3 many times by now, but as long as it exists, it only takes one madman, one mistake, or one accident to burn the world.
For example, imagine if terrorists managed to detonate a nuclear bomb in USA. Or even just a dirty bomb. Maybe only a successful attack against a nuclear power plant? "Put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye" :P
