Rug glitch help

Post » Wed Jan 27, 2016 7:17 am

No matter how hard I try I cant seem to make this work. You tube makes it seem easy but no matter how many times I pick up the wall and rug it wont merge with the home I am trying to repair.

The way I am doing this is place rug on ground.

Build wall on top of it.

Select and hold E button, which now highlights wall and rug and attempt to move wall into position inside the house but wont confirm the connection

You're doing it wrong, m8.

Don't HOLD the E key, point at rhe rug and click on it normally, like you're moving the rug by itself. The object on top should move with it automatically.

I can get it to work on stuff like crafting stations, containers like chests, nuka cola fridge, and some other stuff, but I really wanted it to work on Junk Fences, but could never get it to work on them. Or walls of any kind. XBOX.

edit:

Also, it won't "snap" into place if that is what you are looking for. You still have the collision box of the rug to deal with. Whenever I put something like a Nuka Fridge on the rug, it works just fine. I stay in "workshop mode" and use the same controller button I normally use to move anything while in construction mode. When I move the rug this way, the thing on the rug moves with it, and i can get it to clip into other things just fine, as long as the rug can be placed where I want it to go.

I just can't get it to work on walls or junk fences.
