Can someone fill me in case I'm missing something?

Visually, Desdemona looks like 48-50 years old (although her body is still slim and smooth a.f) by the time we meet her.

In one of Deacon's lies, Desdemona wasn't really Railroad founder.

So when did she start the Railroad and started smuggling synths and why did she decide to do it other than "cuz synths are like human"?

How did she found Carrington, Deacon, T&T, and Drummer Boy? They're like a bunch of skilled people.

The Railroad guerrilla combat skill reputation also apparently reached BOS' Cap'n Kells' ears who see them as a potential threat.

I would think RR started by a bunch of wastelanders like the Minutemen, but as proven by previous and current experience, Minutemen are a bunch of unskilled useless people. Only Preston and Sturges shine in the current Minutemen. Mama Murphy is a drug addict oracle who will lose her ability without it.

So who and what is Desdemona? She's not just a normal chump leading another chumps like the Minutemen.

I've wondered all of this myself. I didn't guess that she was quite that old. I'd say more like 40 or so, but she could be older. I'd like to know more of the backstory of the Railroad and Desdemona though. We obviously know the back story of the BOS already, and we get a good deal of the backstory of the Minutemen and the Institute throughout the game. The Railroad is left as something of a mystery though. We get information about why they were founded, but we never really get more than a few scattered tidbits about 'how' they were founded. I'd love to see more of them either in DLC or in a future game.

Her lover, Sam, was a synth, but he was killed, so now she's taking it upon herself to "save" synths. I feel like she doesn't care about synth as much as making up for what happened. What a pathetic fool. Projecting herself when asking me whether I would lay my life to save a synth.

As for her age, she's probably around 50. I don't doubt she founded the RR. It's not like it's a big group. It's just mostly a few dozens people running from building to building, kidnapping Institute synth by deceiving an idiotic traitor. Unlike the BoS or the Institute, we only need to kill the leaders and the Institute disappears.

Yeah. If there's a Memory Den DLC, then I'd totally want them to include Railroad's history.

And yes, I remember the name Sam in D's final word when killed.
