Do you like it when you're scoped up ...

Post » Thu Jan 28, 2016 1:02 pm

... trying to get a bead on a headshot for your target, and then your companion just nonchalantly and obliviously walks right in front of you, and stops, blocking your view?

I'm like, "What the he11, dude?"

I mean, surely some basic AI logic could be put in place so the companions could detect if you're scoped, and if so, don't walk in front of you. Sheesh.

Yeah. Right up there with their rush to block doorways and their obsessive need to stand between you and targeted activate objects.

"You expect realistic combat behaviour, in a game with super mutants and ghouls?"

"But they're immortal, it doesn't matter"

etc.

Best one I found today, go up the tower at Bunker Hill right to the very top then be blocked by your companion completely from going back down :D

They just need to bring back the companion wheel, or something similar to adjust their behaviour.

Take your companion to the Pickman Gallery and watch how they go walking straight to the group of raiders having a conversation at the end of the room.Cait killed all the raiders in the building without me even moving from the front door

An shot from an gaus rifle moves them and you can shoot again.

Way worse then they move just in front of an exploding minigun firing, this tend to bring up the reload menu.

A little while ago, I was fighting supermutants at a construction site. A partially complete skyscraqer with the top levels essentially nothing but steel beams with a plank or two to walk on here and there. Killed the last supermutant, and suddenly Dogmeat gives a loud bark and I see the notification "Dogmeat has found something."

When I looked, Dogmeat had walked out on a steel beam to an outside corner. He's standing there all proud and everything, and he obviously expects me to come and get what I could see was a bottle of Vodka and a cooler. the problem? He's standing squarely in the way, blocking my only path to get to it.

I was close enough to command him to get the Vodka, so I did, but as he was turning around to bring it to me, he dropped it. Then he fell off the beam himself. Four or five seconds later, I heard his yark as he hit bottom, and I couldn't help but smile... :)
