Gotta hatch em all

Ability to acquire monster eggs, incubate and hatch them for use as household pets, settlement built arenas and unessential companions.

Step 1

Find an egg. Found in commonwealth wilderness but some monsters presumably female may have one in inventory upon death.

Step 2

Build an incubator at settlement (Looks like a microwave kinda) place egg in it like a container. You will see gfx of the egg inside. Wait several in-game weeks and the egg will look cracked (open)

Step 3

Open the incubator. Upon picking up the egg which is now named "Hatched egg", pick it up and it will be immediately removed from inventory and a miniature monster of that type will spawn nearby.

Baby monster behaviors

They are friendly to player. Will attack hostilea however very weak and low damage so not useful as companion...unless you have an army.

There is no upper limit so you can have as many as you wish. However that might not be so good an idea ((I'll explain later why))

1)Commands

Follow, Stay, Trade

You can only place food items in their inventory. 1 food item is consumed per in game day. Failing to feed the monster after 3 days will cause it to die however you can stack multiple food in inventory to prevent needing to micromanage feeding.

2) Grow

After several (yes several) ingame months it will despawn and be replaced by the advlt variant. Ot is very risky and dangerous particularly for the settlement you choose to raise them as they do have a chance of becoming hostile, no longer needing you as a parent. This risk is considerably higher for creatures such as DeathClaws. However there is still a chance it will be friendly and your companion still.

advlt Creatures

Only 1 following at a time. However you couls have for example 1 deathclaw advlt, your companion such as piper and lots of baby creatures of any type. Death clawa, mirelurks, bloat flies (miniaturised as its young) etc etc. the miniature monsters dont post much threat to enemies.

Failing to feed advlt monster in 3 days turns any friendly monster hostile. Great if you wish to gather monster eggs, make a farm and use this farm to make combatants for an arena in a settlement you build.

Creature home

Craft straw hay piles for creatures to stay on. Exactly the same as dog house for dogs.

Breeding

Using the straw hay pile. Having two advlt monsters of the same type bear eachother will produce egga over time and appear in one of the two monster trade inventories. Make an egg farm and eat loads of omlettes, make a zoo, raise an army of baby monsters, make an arena with monsters to fight. Its up to you. However having 3-4 baby death claws at a settlement suddenly grow to advlthood and be hostile could make things very messy indeed. Anyways thats my idea for pets and things. Let me know what you think. I welcome all criticism or positive feedback.
