Chems should be explored more on the wanderer (You)

I feel as though, when it comes to chems, they lack depth.

I hear about all these stories about people on chems who seem to have a real sense of addiction for them, with horrific long term effects. A lot of them become more aggressive and thirsty for a certain type of chem. The storyline of people on chems has definitely achieved a satisfying depth

however when it comes to the wanderer (you) it seems as though nothing has really affected the wanderer from chem addiction. Sure you lose a few points from the perk system and stamina becomes reduced but these aren't things that are going to make me feel as though i'm actually stuck on the addiction of chems.

When I look at these punishments inflicted on me, I think about the many people out there in the commonwealth who got addicted to chems and I think why the hell isn't it this bad for me.

I mean sure you could say to me, "Oh hey well you've only been on the chems for under a year, they did it for a good five years mate stop complaining" but I'm sure I could even put that to the test and play fallout 4 where I spend my entire life addicted to chems, taking all possible chems and wait it out for five in game years and nothing would really change.

What I believe should happen to help the affect of chem depth in Fallout 4 or for any future Bethesda game that involves drugs is that it should take a toll in stages, allow me to elaborate

Stage One Addiction: A slight loss in perk points (1/4 the punishment currently given on drawbacks) and four game days required recovery

Stage Two Addiction: Once a game day you will automatically consume the chem that you are addicted to, if it is in your inventory (1/2 punishment currently given on drawbacks) and one week in game days recovery without that type of chem (this motivates you to store it away). When bartering, your character will automatically ask for chems even if they don't sell it. (occurs during the short conversation they always have)

After a certain amount of further consumption of that type of chem, that you are addicted to without completing recovery course will result in Stage Three

Stage Three Addiction:

- Consumption automatically occurs twice a day if its in your inventory
- You will automatically buy the all chems that you are Stage 3 addicted to at the shop if its available
- Your repetitive voice dialogue (from stage two) towards shop keepers is altered depending on the drug (aggressive, weak, desperate), you will occasionally randomly ask settlers for chems if you talk to them
- a lot of people will openly comment on your state of addiction
- your face is slightly degraded depending on drug
- good choices in dialogue for quests are cut off leaving aggressive and sarcastic choices available (consequences could be disastrous however it teaches a good lesson about not using chems)
- the full punishment currently given in fallout 4 for drawbacks now occurs at this point
- three in game weeks recovery

small points to make

- Motivates people to go for chems resistance addiction in perk lines which should greatly prevent this
- Motivates people to perhaps not take drugs and treat them like fusion cores
- The fact that it currently doesn't affect the wanderer is relatable to how people feel in real life feel about drugs "It won't change me for the worst, i won't get addicted" what actually ends up happening is that the victim become corrupt. This new system teaches a lesson about the real world of drugs
- They should do an in game achievement where you must reach stage 3 so that you know what its like for the many people out there.

My take on a new chems system might have a few flaws but its just a general idea on what I think should be developed into the game, or future games made by Bethesda. Im open to anyones view on this, please leave your thoughts down below.
