So, I attempted to play each faction as far as I possibly could, and what I was doing was switching back and forth after each quest. Basically, I'd do something for the Minutemen, then do something for the BoS, then Railroad, Institute, back to Minutemen as much as possible. When I got to the point where I had to take a side, I chose Minutemen, went through the Institute, evacuation, set off the bomb, etc. Preston told me how much he loved me in a weird bromance, and I thought everything was working. I had Danse as a companion, and after the explosion he told me that he was glad for what we did even if we didn't use the BoS or whatever, but then he just walked off, I had no more control of him.


He walked to the Castle (his last port of harbor), and he's just there. Can't party with him anymore, no dialogue options, etc. So, I picked up Dogmeat and set out to get rid of the Misc. quests for the factions that were remaining. When I brought some kind of something (forgot what it was) back to Scribe Haylen, she starts into this dialogue about me sparing Danse's life and defying Maxson's orders, and Danse and I are wholly unaware of any of that happening. She mentioned him being lonely at some outpost, but he's actually just wandering around the Castle. I have no clue what she's referring to, unless the game things I did that quest line where Danse finds out he's a synth. But I didn't. I never got that quest, nor came close to doing it and Listening Post Alpha is undiscovered. I went to talk to Maxson and he just tells me he's busy.

Leave Scribe Haylen and go to the Railroad HQ to turn in a Misc. quest and I'm given dialogue by Des about siding with the BoS (I didn't), but then immediately she starts saying that at least I sided with the Minutemen, they just don't care enough or something like that. She gave me a new quest, but won't accept any dialogue to turn it in.

Whatever I did, my factions are derped thinking I ended the main story with a completely different faction than I did, and are sure I did quests I never did. I didn't even know about the questline about Danse being a synth until Scribe Haylen spoiled it for me, lol.


I'm kind of sad, though because now I can't get Danse's perk because Blind Betrayal can't be done/game thinks I did it already?
