Hopefully it gets fixed in the patch... but I kinda doubt if Bethesda will care about non-game breaking glitches..
I am really sad about forever leaving Piper`s siter and Nick`s assistance alone in their work place...
When you dismiss them for the first time on PC if you tab out instead of picking a place they go home. If you pick a place, as far as I can tell, they can never go home again, Kinda svcks. I can't even send them to the Diamond city house.
Piss her off until she can't stand you anymore and leave you and she'll go back to her home.
I remember dabbling in the console, trying to figure this out during my first play through. If I recall correctly companions do have a variable called "homelocation" associated with them. When I dismissed them and sent them to a different location it would change the value of the variable, however I never found a way to set it through the console.
If you dismiss them without choosing location, they will go to the last location they were in. If you newer assigned them to a new location, they always go to their original location (Piper to Diamond city, etc...). If you however assigned them a new location during dismissing before, you are out of luck.
Would be nice if it was changed in one of the patches.
would love to have pipers sister in "our home"
and would love to build nick an office in my base of operations with his secretary and all
damn that would be great
i seem to have an issue with preston at the moment too, i want to move him but hes on about the castle mission everytime i talk to him so i cant have him join then then tell him where to go when i dismiss him and in workshop mode theres no "move" option??
To send a companion home:
1.) Grasp a pistol firmly in your dominant hand.
2.) Extend your arm, ensuring a slight bend in the elbow.
3.) Line the barrel of the gun up with your companion's head.
4.) Squeeze the grip of the gun firmly and smoothly to discharge the weapon.
5.) Call loudly for nearby NPCs to assist.
6.) Your companion's body will be delivered home with the next passing caravan.
