Sorry, can't remember what they're called but I was at the Coastal Cottage and I went, I believe, east and there were two of them just hanging up there in the air. I was checking them out when I stumbled onto an alpha deathclaw and decided to stop for the day. So had anyone else stumbled on something like this?

Me too, they seems to be dead. Just shot them once and they fell down to the ground.
