Tough decision! What did you do & why?

Did you side with the scummy scavengers or the nostalgic robots at Old Ironsides?

Side with the robots every time. That's how you get the broadsider connon. You get nothing from the scavengers and also ironsides is being attacked by them.

Well I meen it's kinda obvious because it's a ship with cannons. Also I'd hate let this guy go through this picking a side were it prevents you from getting a very nice weapon.

Oh and the question was, "what did you do and why". And I told him what I did and why!

All I mean is a better explanation before anything was said would be better. Like "I know this might be a spoiler but you get such a good weapon if you do this and nothing if you do that, so keep reading at your own risk" or something like that.

Sided with honorable robots since the scavengers are traitorous scallywags that deserve to walk the plank. Just too bad that we can't side with the Robots instead of the Railroad since the Robots gives the Sole Survivor the Captain's Quarters while the Railroad doesn't even give us our own room.

I sided with the scavengers in my first play through, and the robots in my second play through. Siding with the robots is definitely the better course of action. You get better rewards.

i had met that scavenger woman before the crew and came to a peaceful solution already.

so when defending the ship for ironsides, i actually was pretty surprised to find her and her gang in the last wave of attacking scavengers, thought she'd said she needed my help to pull that stunt or stg along that lines.

so, when they turned up out of nowhere pretty unexpected from my pov, hostile right away despite our former peaceful status, i didn't have much of an option anymore anyway. tough luck, missy, but don't tell me i didn't try :-)

Siding with the scavengers is the worst thing you could do in this game.

Say what you want about people who choose any of the main factions and the railroad, but siding against Ironsides is just wrong and there is no good reason to do so at all. The man is an inspiration.

Yeah, siding with the scavengers just ends in them turning on you and trying to kill you so they don't have to share any salvage with you.I also hear that there is some other quest or something with the salvagers you talk to in this quest, but they get replaced by new salvagers for that if you had to kill the salvagers for Ironsides.

Why would anyone bother siding with the scavengers against the good Captain?

That's the real question.

AFAIK, you don't even get anything from siding with the scavengers since they turn on you.

Isn't the captains quarters tagged as 'owned' or something, or the containers reset? I'm sure I read this somewhere. Could be wrong.

Oh and this should definitely be in the spoilers section, unlike the prydwen thing ?

Wasn't really a tough one for me, even without knowing of the scavenger's ultimate betrayal. I simply couldn't betray Ironsides and crew to a bunch of dirty scavvers. Who would I be to commit such a treacherous act against the captain and sabotage the retaliation against the Chinese?

Have to visit the U.S.S. Constitution after its maiden voyage to get the use of the Captain's Quarters, but it is bugged if I recall correctly. Some items are available for the taking, but some can only be taken through stealing.

How I see it is this is your one chance to have a sentry bot on your side and earn a major reward.

Of course one should always side with the scavengers... After all, they are the very epitome of the spirit of the entrepreneur. They hold the essence of the milk of human kindness that Strong is seeking (at a distance, of course). Aside from that, they are the anti-thesis of the Brotherhood of Steel in that they only want to freely share all found technology with anybody and everybody... (for a price).

How could you even think of siding against such saints for the measly reward of a really cool weapon and the friendship of a bunch of robots who could be scrapped for a profit? Oh, and a penthouse of sorts...

:D
