Idea for future Elder Scrolls Game

Post » Mon Feb 01, 2016 2:10 am

This was an idea and not certain if others have mentioned it, but something I think would be awesome would be mailboxes in game for single player. For example. Say I spend 500+ hours on my character and have thousands of gold, but want to start over on another character, but dont want to spend 500+ hours just getting back to where I was from nothing. I could deposit some gold into a mailbox and then my next character would be able to pick it up when he goes to his first town. Sounds a lot like from an online game, but you could use the gold to buy extra gear and start over. Just an idea and I am certain I will get blasted for it XD

Well, if you are on PC, you could do that right now in any of the last three TES games by having your old character deposit the gold into a sack of your choice and writing down the amount of gold deposited into the sack. Then start a new game with the new character and when your new character opens the sack, just open the console (the ~ key) and type player.additem 0000000f X where "X" is the amount of gold you wrote down. That works if playing Oblivion or Skyrim.

If playing Morrowind type this instead: player->AddItem "Gold_001" X

Ideas for future TES games can go here: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1581946-official-beyond-skyrim-tes-vi-70/

But as Turija said, a lot of people play on PC and they can simply use the console to edit in gold/items.

Mailboxes are usually only used in games that have a grinding/farming loot based system, which TES does not.
