As small of a technical over sight as it was, that really bothered me. Delvin has that whole 'Guy Ritchie Movie' vibe, and his brother is just.... 'meh'. They should've given Glover a thick cockney accent and some better damn clothes.

Same reason Brynjolf had Morrowind Nords' Scottish accent, proabably. Next game might have all Bretons with Delvin's accent, for all we know.

Bryn's accent was really the only thing I liked about him. I could listen to him talk for hours, just don't ask me to care about the actual words he's saying. That is until you finish the TG missions and the most he'll say to you is, "Sorry lass, I've got important things to do." Yeah Bryn, I can take a hint.

I am with you on this! If you're playing on computer, there's actually a mod to fix the not talking to you thing, as I understand it's not supposed to be that way. If I ever do the TG again, I will download that mod.

For some reason I thoroughly enjoy the way Farengar Secret-Fire's voice sounds! It's the only one I've heard like that. And one of the gurad voices I like. They're my favorite

I don't know but it's never really bothered me. I quite like the accent even though I'm from Cumbria at the opposite end of England.

I sometimes take jobs just to hear a decent English accent.

I think Farengar's voice is perfectly suited to who he is and how the player is intended to perceive him - an aloof court mage who thinks of you as a servant to his far more important needs. He's supposed to be annoying, sounds like some great voice acting to me.

I was hoping that Brynolf was raised in High Rock. It would open up the opportunity for great voice actors such as Sean Connery if ever a game is to be set in High Rock. It would certainly add flavour to the game IMO.


The Imperials have always had a very English accent, whether it be the royal family or Imperial officers, so maybe Delvin's accent is connected to the slums of Cyrodiil such as the Waterfront in the Imperial City. That was a haven for the Thieves Guild and their entry point.

Actually, if you go into the "Wretching Netch Cornerclub" in Raven Rock you'll find that the owner/ bartender,Geldis Sadri has the same "cockney" accent as Delvin..I don't know if it's the same voice-actor but the accent is there.

I totally agree. Like his voice is straightforward, or cocky without changing tone or anything, just depending on the context. I think that's partially why I enjoy it so much. I think that's really cool.

In the games, Imperials only started using English accents in Obllvion and even then it was just the women. The old accents used are American accent that lean towards British received pronunciation, intentionally or otherwise (I've heard that some Americans in the north east speak that way).

That's a different voice actor and a less consistent one at that. I liked it when he said "mudcrads" in way that sounds like "moodcrabs" (i.e. the sound in "book" rather than an "uh"). You start hearing that in the Midlands, not from native Londoners. Although I suppose that accent may exist somewhere in England.

And even then, it was just Breton women's reused voice. Probably. There are still files in the game with a bunch of Breton men voiced by Wes Johnson in his Imperial voice, so *shrug*

B'yeah, Imperials have had wonderfully American accents since Morrowind. I was so happy when it returned for Imperial women in Skyrim. They sound so cool.~

In Morrowind, to me they seemed like an American attempt of a well spoken English accent. Whether it be the the Breton agent (Imperial as in the ruling class and not the common Cyrodiil folk) at the beginning when you sign you papers, the guards saying "move along" or characters such as the Imperial Guard in full Adamantium Armor called Apelles Matius.

Yeah, same here I always thought that accents in Morrowind were always like an American-English accent sort of thing.
