Covenant questions [SPOILERS]

Post » Tue Feb 02, 2016 7:50 am

Could use some advice on Covenant. This is my first time bothering with it. I am going to make this all spoilers, just in case for my questions:

Spoiler

1) Everybody is dead yet so much is still marked "Owned" yet appears to be assignable. Does that ever change?

2) Didn't kill the Doctor, she's the only one still alive. Does that make a difference with the "Owned" status?

3) Why is there a listing of 0 defense when there are obviously all those turrets. You can't even remove them and replace them. Any suggestions?

4) What do I do with it? There isn't much farming area, no water and, while the buildings are intact, on 1/2 of them, I can't even get rid of the beds.

5) Thinking of making it home to Curie and Danse (as synths - I figure the irony would be worth it, especially if I added Shawn).

Thoughts anyone?

1) not in my playthrough

2) no

3) I destroyed and replaced the turrets. But there is left over debris that you can't get rid of.

4) I've got a 10 person settlement there. Put crops and water between and behind the existing structures. Scrap all existing furniture that you can to make room for beds.

You could possibly build a vertical structure in the middle of the settlement. It would look out of place though.

I never use it as a settlement. Rather, it's sort of my characters personal retreat. Also, I have access to the command console so resetting ownership and disabling the default turrets aren't a problem. I have to admit that I don't understand why the area was designed that way if it was meant to be a player settlement.

Meh. Okay. I'll just keep it for my favorite synths.

Oh well. Pretty place though, and would be well defended if you were allowed to!

You can. To get rid of the beds and existing turrets, create a unit of shack floor. Then move the beds and turrets onto them (it will take several), then store the wood floor in your workshop. you can then replace everything with your own stuff, build a beacon, and it works perfectly as a settlement.

1) if you send there a serttler and assign him to every bed manually ( one by one) they all will turn "green". You also can scrap them with a floor trick . It`s not easy to explain...I`m not a native English speaker....Anyway, I `ll try...you should create 1 small wooden floor. Aim at bed in workshop mode and hold the button you usually use for moving any objects. Wait for a few seconds untill you can move the bed, place the bed on the floor piece, store the floor in your workshop. Bed dissapears forever. Use this floor piece to rid of all beds and turrets in the settlement . You can do it with a console command too , but it`s not a very safe way.

All other "red" stuff can be either scrapped or stored in workshop without committing any crimes. You can also ask Dogmeat to take "red " items from containers that can`t be scrapped.

Original Covenant turrets don`t count as your defence and they will attack another turrets ( if you build any). Rid of them.

2) No.

3 ) Up to you . I used it to get the Benevolent leader achievement. 2 settlers + 1 tier 3 bar. They are still 100% happy.

The area is bugged. I've played through both endings (one of them is just wretched) and in both instances the turrets give you no defense. You have to get rid of them and rebuild. The area is also bugged if you kill everyone; everything doesn't become "ownable" by you. The area is also bugged if you don't kill everyone; some of the beds aren't owned by you :P

On a PC/console you can fix all of this with setownership.

One upside of destroying the turrets is the permanent fires left in their place. Looks cool at night.

Yep! I was able to do it all in about a half hour, and I'm a noob. :)

I turned the diner into a bar, and I made the mayor's office my house. BTW, a power armor station juuuuust fits on the front porch.
