New Perk Idea: Craftsman

I like the perk system alright, but one thing that seems a bit weak about it is how many perks and perk ranks are just simply stat boosts. Only a few perks add special variations to each rank I would like to see more of that. Hopefully, we will see some new perks added in upcoming DLCs. I’ve thought up several perks, and I’ll start by talking about this one.

New Perk:

Craftsman (STR)

Rank 1: You can now ‘Clean’ ranged weapons, cleaned weapons will have that designation in the inventory and deal an extra 10% damage, reload 10% faster, and have slightly better accuracy. You can also now ‘Sharpen’ melee weapons, they deal 10% more damage and have a small chance to cause bleeding. Weapons lose their cleanliness based on usage and ammo type (higher caliber’s would lose their cleanliness faster). Aesthetically weapons will not look rusty/dirty when clean. Weapons would be cleaned/sharpened at a weapons workbench. Clean/sharp weapons would now have that designation in front of it in the menu and would go away once cleanliness/sharpness has worn off.

Rank 2: All weapon/armor/settlement crafting (so this excludes food/chem crafting) requires one less or each required item (minimum of one still required).

Rank 3: You can craft silver (using scrapped silver) inlay of various designs into your weapons. Increases weapon value.

Rank 4. You can craft gold (using scrapped gold) inlays of various designs into your weapons. Greatly increases weapon value.

(Hopefully tied to this perk a new Magazine would be added that would increase the length of cleanliness and unlock new gold/silver inlay designs)
