does your companion have statsperks?

Post » Tue Feb 02, 2016 10:54 pm

I was just wondering if you chosen companion had any real stats/perks, things they were good at that another one wasn't. Piper is my main companion at this point, and I supply her with three separate types of weapons to equip depending upon the situation. It would be nice to know if she (or what ever companion you choose) has certain perks/talents for certain weapons. Is she/he better with a sniper rifle, a silenced 10mm pistol, a rocket launcher, or a baseball bat? Does it even matter what I give her, outside of the fact that it be a powerful weapon? Can one companion carry more than another? Surely Danse could carry more than Piper or Dogmeat.

I guess my point is, that if they do have stats/perks, I want to see what they are. If they don't, if all companions are simply generic in their stats/perks, I think that's wrong, each companion should be unique in their abilities which could then affect if you want them as a companion or not.

Each companion has their own SPECIAL, which effects different things.

Strength is the most important one, as it effects carry weight (150+(5*Str)), Codworth, Curry(bot) and dogmeat don't have a strength value, so have default 150 carry weight, while Strong has 10, and can carry 200 weight, companions in powr armor can carry 205, except Danse, who can carry 210 (he gets +1 str from paint on his armor even without a helmet). It also effects melee damage the same as the player.

Other specials apply, but are not as noticeable outside extremes like Strong because they effect companions less than the player.

Per effects agro range, but does not have a major impact on actual companions due to their similar perception. A hacked assaultron however is noticeable with 14+ per

End increases health, but as their health does not level like the player makes less of a difference outside the extremes.

Chr does not effect companions, if it does it is so minor as to be irrelevant.

Int also is unnoticeable. Companions don't gain exp.

Agl also unnoticeable. Companions have limitless ap.

Lck also unnoticeable. Companions don't need luck.

And, so far as I know, the only one that takes advantage of perks, is the player.

Sure, NPCs have SPECIAL and can have perks. The vertibird has a few perks. Even Bloatflies have perks.

The companions have sneak01 through sneak04. They also have the 'CompanionInspirational' Perk which works when the player get's that perk for themselves.

Many perks will only be appropriate for the player but I'm sure when the Geck is released there will be overhauls to NPC's to give them appropriate perks for combat.
