"Companions"

Cait.

Piper.

Curie.

Preston.

Macready.

Codsworth.

Hell every single one of these companions that reaches the lowest affinity should be able to be killed after the affinity system hits zero & they leave you.

I just find all the companions to be really annoying, they get in the way especially when your running from an Alpha Deathclaw or some other scary ass creatures.

They are not very good with any given weapon plus they intend to use a whole stock pile of ammo up in one hour or less.

Not fun to be with kinda sad really.

Always awkwardly flirting whenever i switch companions or dissing one another.

They don't like certain things i do. Steal, pick-lock, move or even breath.

Just give me the ability to kill these useless f***s.

please & thank you.

"Preston & his repeat missions"

always asking to help out with the settlements & the worst part is you can't even decline his request either.

"help him, he's been kinap".

"help her she got lost in the woods".

"A settlement has been raided by super annoying mutants"

An all that other crap he has you doing repeatedly.

BTW his weapon of choice is god-awful especially when in the midst of combat.

Just give me the power, ability, strength or whatever tool i can use to kill off these useless undesirables or better yet just release the G.E.C.K & I'll create my own companion that is Quiet, Professional with any weaponry & won't shoot you after you mistakenly killed a group of settlers with a Nuka grenade when you actually thought it was a Verta-bird flare grenade.

Agree with mostly what you said, Dogmeat and Valentine are the only companions I can stand. But if you give a companion or settler just one bullet for a weapon you want them to use, its meant to be unlimited, isn't it?

You don`t have to take any companions. Just ignore them. Some of them are really annoying. I can`t imagine who in this world would ever want to take Preston. I run away as soon as I see him just to avoid his radiant quests.

But it would be boring if all companions were same and approved every your action. And I like that they are not happy when you dismiss them. I actually think that if they are not stupid, they should not be happy at all when you cheat on them by flirting with others . They should get mad and upset at you, or may be even fight with each other :)..Now you are allowed to sleep with different companions just for the bonus and they ignore it like they have no feelings at all.

I took companions just for the perk (relationship bonus) and they can carry stuffs. Now I don't need them so much, since I can fastravel even I carry alot of stuffs. I still cannot understand why players complains about MM radiant quests. Just don't report back to Preston after finish the quest and you don't get a new ones.

As for myself, I cannot get any MM radiants now neither from Radio guy or Preston. Don't know why, since other factions have radiant quests to do. I been waiting/sleeping/travel in and out of Castle, no luck. Something have been changed since I use beta. In glory days I could have 10 radiants quests at the same time. When I report back all the quests done to the quest givers, new level. Not anymore. Radiant quests should repeat themselves......

As for the companions, the AI could been better. Instead for aggressive in action, they should be passive and just follow the player and protect. They should also be able to protect themselves when "wait". Now they are running around like maniacs, setting off all traps nearby and alert hostiles. I just wonders if I will continue with these companions, but rather go solo.

Cheers,

-Klevs

If you don`t report, the quest will be failed( after some time). And each time I report to him, he gives me more quests ( unless I catch the right moment to run away). Also just walking near him makes these quests appear in my quest list and there is no option to say "no, I`m busy". With other factions you have to go and ask for quests yourself and it`s much better.

If you want to get more xp you always can go and clean any location without quests. Enemies respawn after a time.

Give Curie a good melee weapon. She's very good.

They can also help with settlement defences...just leave them to help if attacked...cheaper than a turret.

I don't use companions anymore, not even Dogmeat, and I like the dog, I just don't like his quirks.

With Preston's side quests, I always quick save just before getting to him, get dialog going with him, then stand back just to the edge of where it stops. Then I wait for him to acknowledge the mission I just finished, and run away before he can assign a new one. It's a common workaround many use to Minutemen quests building up.

However if you visit the Castle frequently, the radio announcer's quests will automatically add on when he broadcasts them, because you're within listening range. To avoid this, you can run straight to the transmitter when you fast travel there, and turn it off. Then turn it back on before leaving.

Did anyone get the memo to stop bugging the general? He's got plenty to do Minutemen.

you don't have to do the mission turn ins with preston. if you do the deed, when it tells you to go talk to him, don't. after a while (several days in game) you get an auto-completion. buys you time.

I use no companions at all. It's heavenly. No one making snide comments about what I pick up. No mangy mutt whining and whimpering for attention and pats on the head. No one walking in front of me when I'm trying to aim or getting in the way when I'm trying to loot something. It's delightful. I LOVE it.

Between Strong Back, Lone Wanderer and Deep Pockets, I don't even miss the extra carrying capacity or combat assistance. I can carry almost as much by myself as I can with a companion. As far as combat, I do quite well all by myself, thank you. Even against Legendaries or skull enemies.

Try it, OP. Leave them all at home. Better yet, send them all to a settlement you never, ever visit. If you're like me, you'll find it to be a much more pleasant journey.
