Feeling guilty about not being able to send Piper home.

Post » Tue Feb 02, 2016 10:45 pm

Is there anyone else out there that made the mistake of not hitting cancel the first time you dismissed Piper? Now i can't send her back to diamond city and i'm feeling awful that her sister is there by herself while Piper pointlessly farms at the castle. This is Really Bumming me out. :sadvaultboy:

I think Piper was sick of Diamond City. Doesn't she complain all of the time about it and the Mayor.....who so happens to be a synth?

Well yeah, but her poor sis is all alone, vulnerable to anyone who might hurt her now that her big sis isn't around to protect her. And it's not like we're there all the time. That's why I moved my character to Diamond City to keep an eye on Nat. Anyone hurts her, they'll have to answer to her new big sis, my Sole Survivor. :)

It svcks, though. :< I even left a machete next to Nat's little box so she can at least defend herself if someone nasty came her direction.

Did this first game. Now I always send companions home.

Which is kind of odd with Cait since whenever I go back to pick her up she always says "What are we doing back here? You know I hate this place", as if we had just walked into the place together.

But yeah I prefer all of the companions be allowed to go back to their 'homes'. I think it was a mistake it not being an option, but the workaround is to just TAB out when dismissing them.

YES.

I assigned her to a different location once by accident, and I feel the exact same way ever since. *I* was the guy who told her to stick with family no matter what, ironically...

For that same reason, I always pay attention never to dismiss Nick to any place but his agency. It's a different story with companions like Dogmeat, Strong, Curie or even Cait; who want to leave or can no longer stay at their original location, but Piper and Nick are (in an ultimately imaginary way) important citizens with obligations in Diamond City.

That's actually a good idea; I could just buy the two a new house. Not like I'm spending any of those caps on anything, anyways.

Brother, that's a major spoiler. Please edit it out.

I always send Nick, Piper, Codsworth and Dogmeat home. Curie and Cait I leave at one of my settlements, because they don't have an acceptable home to return to and don't want to be back at their point of origin in the first place. I don't even recruit anyone else.

You think that's bad? I had an issue with the residents at DC when I first went there. Long story short, Polly, John, Solomon, the Preacher and two robots are lying dead in Piper's house. Little sis has to sleep with them every night, lol.
