Companion Homes

Post » Tue Feb 02, 2016 7:27 pm

So I'm sure many people have complained about this before, but I still want to raise awareness of the problem. If you have a companion, like Piper for example, and you dismiss her and press cancel when it asks where you want to send her, it will send her to Publik Occurences. The problem is if you send Piper to, lets say Sanctuary Hills, and then press cancel when dismissing, it will send her back to Sanctuary Hills, and there is no ways that I have found to send her back to Publik Occurences. This can be very annoying if you want to send Deacon back to Railroad HQ, or Danse back to the Prywden. There should really be a "Home" option when choosing where to send a companion, and if there is a way to send a companion home after sending them to a settlement, please comment below.

There is no way in game to send them back to their default location, which strikes me as a weird move. One would think they'd include that as an option. There may be a way of doing it through a console command, but if so I'm not aware of it.

There is a way, just only before you send them somewhere else.

In the original post, you'll read that this does not work if you've already sent the companion to a new location. I can confirm this. My Piper will not go back to her original location when hitting cancel. She goes straight back to Sanctuary.

I remember asking Piper about that and she said she didn't want to go back to Diamond City.

She'd rather explore the world.

Some other companions have also commented that they don't want to go there when i have been about to enter their place of origin, with them as companion.

But there area a couple that you should be able to return to their home and say goodbye to them being a companion option.

Yes in my experience they return to the last place you dismissed them to.

I never send companions to a different place, unless it makes sense for me to do that. Piper and Nick, for example, do not get sent somewhere else, because it makes no sense.
