getting a bounty for what? If you get caught stealing...bounty... start a fight...bounty ...murder someone ..bounty.. trespass... bounty, so yeah Bounties are normal if you "break the law". Unless you are collecting bounties, then you usually have to ask for them from the Jarls Steward or an Inn Keeper.
Perhaps I said it wrong, sorry. When ever I murder, anyone I try and make sure noone is looking. That way I get no bounty and receive any bonus. This is different, as soon as I get the captains speech when I do Recipe for Disaster. I get a bounty. Is it supposed to be that way?
You sure you don't mean "To Kill an Empire"(The quest after Recipe for Disaster)? And yes you are supposed to get a bounty(1500 in Haarfingar) .
Yes. Thanks Sync. I went from one to the other, so fast I thought I was still on the same one. Yes I did get a bounty, and it was 1500. So everything is, as planned then. ??
Yeah their isn't really a way to avoid that one.... I tried...errr a few times, then ended up looking it up in the wiki....lol
Yes, can you remember how you got rid of your bounty. I'm going back to Solitude now and would come in real handy. HA!
I believe she paid it off... But she was a Thane in Solitude, which may have helped some.... my last DB character went to jail, did the time...and out.
Yeh that's what I ended up doing. Just payed it off. I hadn't done a lot of the map or quests yet. My biggest desire was to do the DB quest line.
In 4 yr's of playing I have only done the DB twice, once on 360 and a very modded PC RP... she was a Bard / Assassin. It is not my favorite quest line. Though I do think it's one of the better written ones... just not my thing.
This is only my third time through. This is my first time doing the DB quest line. I was reading the forum boards a lot, while casually playing skyrim. And a lot of people were saying how they liked the DB. There was to much murder involved at first, which turned me off. It is just a game and I thought 'what if I played the game for years and never once did the DB, quest line'. (I guess four years is the high water mark, and I've got that out of the way now...eh?) LOL.
Well ya know... 4 yrs and their are things that none of my characters have done, nor will any of them probably do them. Half the Deadric quest's still remain undone... and probably always will. I don't find any fun in playing evil characters and can't find any good in some of the quest's.... so I just don't do them. I decided when Skyrim came out that none of my characters would go into Dwemer ruins unless sent on a quest-line.. as I have yet to do Peryites quest, I know of one very large dungeon that I have yet to go into. The only characters that "explore" everything don't do quest-lines and then they only explore one hold. I have yet to do The Pale and The Reach, though I have characters in mind for both. Same with exploring the Dwemer ruins, I have a character in mind for that and eventually I will get to it, but I have a lot of other RP's that I also want to do.
It's my play style, I only do what is right for the character and their story... It works for me... 4 yr's later I am still finding "new" places....
Yeah.... I've actually been playing this game since release. There are things I've never done - and not going to do either . The DB quest line (and latterly, I've not even bothered to kill them all - it's all just totally ICKY). Dawnguard (except for the Aetherium Forge quest). I've done the TG quest line a few times, but much as I like the latter part, well, being a thief is so NOT my thing.... I only do a few of the daedric quests: Meridia and Azura - those are fine; Dagon.... well, only so I can either lock the Razor up in a case, or send the pieces back with the idjit (depends on the toon which one happens); Vile - so I can stick him with Barbus.... hmmmm. Who else? OH - Sam.... because that whole thing's just a hysterical trip. That's it though - the rest of them can sit in their nasty darks and never see the light of my day. And if I happen to need Skald's thaneship, I'll help whatshisface with Vaermina, but I haven't actually done that for a while. When I do that, I always let him finish the ritual.
I say 4 yrs... but I did get it on release day, had it pre-orded... and little did I know my hubby pre-ordered the book also... which for the 1st 6 months I refused to open. I made him do it and then only tell me how to fix a problem.. like Blood On The Ice... it glitched... ( go figure) and he read it, I told him what I had done...and all he said was.. go talk to XXX or XXX neither worked.. so I reloaded and started over and it went smooth.
I think other than Dagon, those are the only ones I have ever done as well. The ummm haunted house in Markarth... soon as it said "kill" ...I said...reload... The only reason my Dwemer Scholar will do Peryites quest is for access to the Ruin... I actually like Sam.. I think for a little while almost all of my characters did that quest... but I stopped so I wouldn't get burnt out on it. I only do Meridia's quest if I am also going to do Dawnguard ( which is my favorite quest-line)
The TG I have done... 4 times... 3 of the 4 were "no kill" runs....well except for 1...just one.. and there is a mod in the works that will take that one kill out... I am waiting on it to do another TG run.
